Game Freak’s new Pokemon game is going to be so much more expansive than the traditional Pokemon experience we know and love – Pokemon Legends Arceus is blending open-world adventuring and action-RPG gameplay with traditional Pokemon gameplay features and mechanics to create a truly unique experience that could prove groundbreaking if it pays off. One of the new features coming to Pokemon Legends Arceus is the Arc Phone – if you’re wondering what this is and how it relates to the Hisui Region Pokedex, we have everything you need to know.
What is the Arc Phone in Pokemon Legends Arceus?
Pokemon Legends Arceus’ Arc Phone isn’t going to be a replacement for your Pokedex, but it’s going to enhance the traditional menu system that has remained unchanged in Pokemon games for years to bring it more in line with modern open-world action-RPG experiences.
By that, we mean the Arc Phone is going to include a modern map – something traditional Pokemon games have never seen before – alongside some interesting tracking features and a “Missions & Requests” tab. You can check that out below:
As far as we’re aware, the Pokedex is going to be independent of the Arc Phone and there should be a separate Bag system in play alongside this. It looks as though all the menu systems are being expanded upon and separated – to compare, in traditional Pokemon games, they are all connected through the Pokedex.
Here’s what the official Pokemon Legends Arceus website has had to say so far…
” Early on in your adventure, you’ll receive a device called the Arc Phone. Its distinctive appearance might lead you to suspect it has some connection to the Mythical Pokémon Arceus. This device appears to contain some sort of strange power, and it seems it will help guide you on your journey.”
Pokemon Legends Arceus is out on January 28th and we’ll make sure to keep you updated on the latest information on what the Arc Phone can do when the full game is released.
