Pokemon Go holds spotlight hours on a regular weekly basis and the upcoming one is an excellent chance to potentially catch yourself a Shiny Mankey.

Even if you’re not a fan of the idea of hunting for a Shiny Mankey in Pokemon Go, the event also features a nice bonus that’ll give you a boost of experience, so it might be worth it anyway.

When is the spotlight hour?

The spotlight hour for Mankey will be taking place on April 13th, starting at 6 PM and ending an hour later – as usual, this is in local time.

For those unfamiliar, local time means that regardless of your timezone it’ll be accurate to the time where you live.

What can we expect?

Like other spotlight hours, the event itself will be quite simple. You’ll be seeing a hell of a lot of Mankey for one hour, that’s the event.

These hours are great if you want the specific Pokemon mentioned for any reason, such as needing candy for the evolution or just pursuing the Shiny form or a high stat version of it.

These hours also typically offer an additional bonus – in this case, the event gives doubled Evolution experience for the duration.

Does the event have anything else?

Outside of the doubled evolution experience, and the chance to catch a lot of Mankey, no, not really.

Spotlight hours are fairly basic events, they’re not that complicated and there really isn’t that much going on in them.
