If you have a ticket, you can access the Pokemon Go Special Weekend and all of its benefits. Be warned that tickets are quite restricted for this 2021 May Special Weekend.

You’ll need to be in any of the following countries; Mexico, the US, or Japan, and then claim a promo from a specific company. So, with that in mind, let’s get into the details.

When is the Pokemon Go Special Weekend Event?

It should be noted that if you’ve seen my article on the global version of the event, those times are not the same as for this version of the event.

This version, the limited access one, starts from May 29th at 12:00 AM Local time and runs until May 30th 11:59pm – basically the entire two days of the weekend for anyone who can access it.

It’s a bit unusual this event runs on local time while the global version runs on GMT+1, but here we are, regardless.

How do I gain access?

You’ll need to be in any of the following countries:

  • Mexico
  • The United States of America
  • Japan

If you’re somewhere else in the world, sorry to say you are out of luck already – and I’m one of those people, so I get the feeling.

If you are one of the lucky trainers in those countries, you’ll need to claim a promotion from one of these companies, with are in respective order with the countries they correspond to;

You should recieve a code from the process, which can be entered here on the Niantic website.

On top of the above, those with access to the event can spawn all of the following Pokemon using incense between 11am and 5pm local time on the 29th of May:

  • Clefairy
  • Jigglypuff
  • Eevee
  • Marill
  • Sableye
  • Stunky
  • Spritzee

  • Unown (Y)
  • Unown (S)

Anything else?

There are some other minor bonuses, such as an increased chance at getting a Lucky Pokemon when trading with friends and a 4 times bonus XP effect provided that the Luminous Legends Y challenge is complete.

There is an unconfirmed bit of information implying that Shiny Eevee may have a rate boost during this event – which would be great for those who can benefit from it, as with all of Eevee’s evolutions, there’s bound to be one you like.

With all that said, that should be about everything. Best of luck getting what you want from the event, trainers.
