Pokemon Go Luminous Legends X: Upcoming event details

Pokemon Go Luminous Legends Event intro

Pokemon Go has revealed its next event, Luminous Legends! It’s set to introduce quite a few new Pokemon, so make sure to check what’s coming.

The event features a whole slew of new releases, and not even limited to just Pokemon!

When does it start & What can we expect ?

The event will start on the 4th of May at 10:00 AM Local time, and run for just below 2 weeks, finishing on May 17th at 8:00 PM Local time. It is quite a long event, but Season of Legends has been doing a lot of that lately, so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised.

What can we expect though? Quite a lot actually, the event seems to be quite a huge one by recent standards.

A short list of the features include the release of Xerneas, a variety of new Pokemon, a new item and a task for the entire community to take on that will potentially bring us a new shiny and another new Pokemon.

The event does seem to have an emphasis on Dragon and Fairy-Type Pokemon, so if you’re a fan of either, then Luminous Legends in Pokemon Go is probably the event for you.

I’ve covered things below in a bit more detail, so read on if you’re interested Trainer!

New Pokemon

The event looks set to be a great one for players who enjoy filling out their Pokedex, as it’ll add all of the following Pokemon for you to chase to the game for the very first time:

  • Spritzee
  • Aromatisse
  • Swirlix
  • Slurpuff
  • Goomy
  • Sliggoo
  • Goodra
  • Xerneas

By the standards of most Pokemon Go events, that’s quite the list they’re giving us.

Wild Pokemon

In addition to all of the new Pokemon, you can expect to see all of the following making appearances in the wild during the event:

  • Dratini
  • Ralts
  • Bagon
  • Cottonee

Egg changes

New Pokemon will also be added to 7km eggs during the event, including all of the following;

  • Cleffa
  • Igglybuff
  • Azurill
  • Gible
  • Spritzee
  • Swirlix

Raid changes

There’s not a huge amount to say here, we can expect a few more Pokemon added to raid battles throughout the event though, including these:

  • Ponyta (Galarian)
  • Alolan Exeggutor
  • Xerneas – 5 Star

Challenge rewards for Luminous Legends in Pokemon Go

If players across the globe manage to catch a grand total of 500 million Fairy-type Pokemon in total from May 1st 12:00AM (UTC) until the very end of May 9th, then various bonus rewards will be included.

The rewards will go live on May 11th if we earn them in time, and last until May 17th.

What are these rewards, you ask?

  • Triple Catch XP Bonus.
  • Pancham added to the game, alongside Pangoro – Available in raids for the duration of the event.
  • Shiny Galarian Ponyta (and Rapidash!) will be released.

Fairly nice rewards, provided the Pokemon GO community can reach that target in time.

That said, I’m not convinced we should be thrilled at the idea of what is effectively an activity requirement for the release of new Pokemon and shinies.

Anything else?

Just a few more things, nothing absolutely major left to cover, so if the event doesn’t have your interest yet it might not manage to get it.

Rainy Lure Modules

Yes, they’re expanding the roster of Lure Modules with a new entry. These lures will attract Water, Bug and Electric-type Pokemon, as well as being used to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra.

Though fortunately you can also just evolve Sliggoo into Goodra during rain at any point, so that might save you some coins.

Dragonite and Salamence Elite Moves

Dragonite and Salamence will have a chance to learn a rare move respectively, – with Dragonite learning Draco Meteor and Salamence learning Outrage.

To get the moves, simply evolve their previous form or use a Charged TM during the event.

And that’s about it for this event, good luck hunting those Fairy-types Trainers!
