The day we all waited for is finally upon us, and you’ll either be well underway in completing your Pokemon Go Kanto Tour research, or you’re ready for the final stage in this ticket exclusive research.

Throughout the Kanto event, we were taken on a journey through Pallet Town, Pewter City, Cerulean City and Fuchsia City, as well as completing trade, evolve and raid challenges.

As part of the paid-for event, ticket holders have also been given access to the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research challenges, which gives a very special reward for completing them, a Shiny Ditto! The increase shiny spawn rate and the chance to collect region-specific Pokemon made the whole day very worthwhile.

The event doesn’t end there. And this is where the hard work begins.

If you have already reached level 40, the next series of challenges automatically unlock, and if you’re not there yet, there’s no rush, the challenges will be available when you do. And these will most certainly be worth the effort to get your hands on a very exclusive Pokemon… Shiny Mew!

What are the challenges?

Just like everything else in the kanto Tour, these challenges are all associated with the number 151.

Step 1 of 4 ‘Mew Masterwork Research’

  • Platinum Kanto Medal – reward 51 Ultra balls
  • Send 151 gifts to friends – reward 1 Poffin
  • Make 151 Great throws – reward 1510 stardust

Step 2 of 4 ‘Mew Masterwork Research’

  • Catch a Pokemon for 30 days in a row – reward 51 Ultra balls
  • Catch 151 different species of Pokemon – reward 1 Glacial Lure
  • Catch 30 of each of the following Pokémon types: Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Flying, Fighting, Poison, Electric, Ground, Rock, Psychic, Ice, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Dragon, Dark and Fairy – 151 XP for each set of 30 Pokémon
