Pokemon Go: How to Evolve Magneton into Magnezone

The pokemon Magnezone, the evolved form of Magneton (Magneton Evolution Pokemon Go)

Many players have gained a great deal of Magnemite with recent events, but just how does the Magneton evolution work in Pokemon Go?

If you’ve been attending the recent Searching for Legends event, or the Beldum Incense day, you probably picked up plenty of Magnemite and might already have a Magneton in your Pokemon storage right now.

But how do you evolve Magneton into Magnezone? Well, that’s just what we’re going to cover in this article.

Just like with Nosepass into Probopass, Magneton evolving into Magnezone creates the exact same problem.

Players of the main-line series games will know that Magneton can evolve, but in Pokemon Go the evolution button is not visible when a Magneton is selected.

Luckily, just with Nosepass evolving into Probopass, it’s just because Magneton has an extra requirement to evolve, and the button is hidden until it is fulfilled.

How to get Magnezone in Pokemon Go?

Now, what could this requirement be, you may be wondering?

Well if you read the Nosepass article as well, this may sound somewhat familiar to you, as the solution is simply being near an active magnetic lure module on a Pokestop and then try to evolve Magneton again.

If you don’t have one available right now, others players can use them on a Pokestop for you, and if that’s not an option, you can buy one for 200 coins at the shop. It’s a little steep but it is an option that’s always available.

Be aware that there is also a proximity requirement, so if it isn’t showing up it’s possible you are too far away.

Just like with Probopass, as long as you meet the magnetic lure requirement and are close enough to the Pokestop, you’ll be able to obtain your very own Magnezone when you next attempt to evolve a Magneton.

Just don’t take too long to evolve them, as the magnetic lure module is a timed item and can time out, leaving you without a Magnezone.

You’ll also need 100 Magnemite candy for the evolution itself on top of the nearby active magnetic lure module – though don’t worry about it much if you’re only a few short.

It’s quite easy to get a handful of Magnemite candy by either simply using rare candy items on them – notably, I wouldn’t recommend this unless you only need one or two, as it’s somewhat wasteful.

You can also make up the difference by simply using the magnetic lure module to capture a few Magnemite while the lure is active.

Good luck evolving those Magneton, Trainer!
