Pokemon‘s Rayquaza is a fan-favourite amongst trainers of all ages – and for good reason! They’re one of the best Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and the mascot of Pokemon Emerald – easily one of the best games in the series. If you want to find Rayquaza in the latest iteration of Pokemon’s Sinnoh region, we have everything you need to know.

Where to find Rayquaza in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

If you want to find Rayquaza in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl, you’re going to need to head to Ramanas Park on Route 221. This is a location that’s only accessible after defeating Cynthia – Sinnoh’s region Champion – who is the final Trainer you face after beating the Elite Four.

You’re going to need the National Dex before Rayquaza shows up, too – this can be picked up from Professor Rowan in Sangdem Town after you’ve finished filling your Sinnoh region Pokedex. You don’t need to catch all the Pokemon in the Sinnoh region Pokedex, though. All you need to do is encounter all 151 Pokemon.

Once you’ve beaten Cynthia and acquired the National Dex, you can head to Ramanas Park and summon Rayquaza by exchanging Mysterious Shards for a Stratospheric Slate. You’re going to need to buy three Discovery Slates, three Johto/Kanto Slates, and two Soul Slates before the Stratospheric Slate is available for purchase. It’s a long process.

  • Johto Slates available in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond;
  • Kanto Slates available in Pokemon Shining Peal;

Once you have a Stratopsheric Slate, you need to use it to summon Rayquaza with the pedestal in Ramanas Park. We recommend you save your game before you start this Pokemon battle, though, because it’s not the easiest one out there! This Rayquaza Pokemon battle is going to be like battling a Pokemon in the wild – you don’t want to fully defeat them, but you’re going to want to get them pretty low on HP before you try to capture them.
