How to get a Super Rod in Pokemon

The first thing you’ll need to do if you want to get a Super Rod in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl, you’re going to need to tackle the Elite Four of the Sinnoh region. It’s no small feat, but you’ll be able to get it done by following the story being laid out in these games.

Once you’ve finished this small task, you’ll be invited to an island just off the northeastern coast of Sinnoh – there’s going to be both a Fight Area and a Resort Area available in this location.

What you need to do is get the ferry from Snowpoint City to the Fight Area of this island – when you step off the boat, you’ll need to head to the gate for Route 225. Inside, an Angler will be waiting to give you a thrilling speech about how great the Super Rod is. When he’s done, he’ll hand one over!

It sounds deceptively simple and that’s because it is. Beating the Elite Four is the hardest part of this – and perhaps the game altogether.

If you want to actually use the Super Rod, all you need to do is face a body of water and use the Super Rod from your Item Bag. When you have something hooked, you’ll see an exclamation point above your Trainer’s head.
