If you’re looking to get your hands on some extra goodies in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl, we’ve got everything you need to know about how you can get a Mystery Gift and all the bonus items that come with it. This can include bonus Pokeballs, clothing outfits, and even some special Pokemon – you might have to use a code for some of these, though!

How to get a Mystery Gift in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

If you want to unlock this feature in the latest Pokemon games, you’re going to need to beat Maylene – she’s the third Gym Leader you’ll encounter and you should be able to battle her in Veilstone City when you arrive. Unlike the original games, you won’t need to chat to the TV Producer in the Jubilife City TV Station to get access to this feature.

Once you’ve put Maylene in her place, you should be able to access the Mystery Gift function on the Main Menu – this is where you can start getting all of your free in-game items!

If you have a Mystery Gift in mind, you’ll be able to choose between “Get via Internet” and “Get with Code/Password” when you select this option. We have a few of the available options for you below…

  • 12 Quick Balls
    • Available if you purchased Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl through the Nintendo eShop;
  • Manaphy Egg
    • Available if you play either game before February 21st, 2022;
  • Jirachi Pokemon
    • Available if you have Save Data for Pokemon Shield or Pokemon Sword;
  • Mew Pokemon
    • Available if you have Save Data with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee;
  • Pokemon Platinum Outfit
    • Available if you play either game before February 22nd, 2022;
