Looking to get a leg up on the Elite Four in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl? You might be wondering if you can still duplicate and clone Pokemon in these rereleased remasters and the answer is… You can! If you want to duplicate and clone Pokemon – and their held items – before it’s patched out, here’s everything you need to know to do that.

How to Clone & Duplicate Pokemon

If you want to exploit the duplication glitch that’s currently available in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl, all you need to do is follow the steps below. It’s worth noting that you’re going to need to be inside the Pokemon Nursery in Solaceon Town – this is in the western areas of the Sinnoh region, looking at the map.

  • Put the Pokemon you wish to Clone in the bottom right corner of Box 1;
  • Place another Pokemon in the bottom right corner of Box 2;
  • Register the Pokemon placed in Box 1 to the Battle Box;
  • Speak to the NPC in the Pokemon Nursery and select the Pokemon in Box 2;
  • Now, switch both of these boxes and give both Pokemon to the Pokemon Daycare;
  • You’ll then need to select a “throwaway” Pokemon and register them to the Battle Box to be deleted;
  • Then, add the second Pokemon and “check status” to Clone it;
