It’s time to jump back into the Sinnoh Region, Trainers! Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are here and we’re ready to jump into the fight against Team Galactic and the Elite Four of the Sinnoh Region. There are a lot of changes in these newly-released remastered versions of the fourth-generation games – however, a lot is also the same. If you want to get an Oval Stone, we have everything you need to know below.

Where to Get the Oval Stone Evolution Item

The only place to find an Oval Stone and get your hands on some of the rarer Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is to head to the Lost Tower on Route 209.

When you’re here, you need to head inside and fight your way up to the Second Floor of the Lost Tower. Battle the trainer up there and you will then be able to pick up the Poke Ball item across from him – this should have the Stone you’re after.

Oval Stone Evolution Uses

At the moment, there’s only one Pokemon evolution that uses the Oval Stone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. We don’t think this is going to change going forwards, so you might find you don’t need one at all unless you want the following Pokemon and a complete Pokedex…

    • From Happiny, when holding the Oval Stone in the Daytime;

Alternatively, you can excavate all the Evolution Stones in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl from the Grand Underground – following the conclusion of the main portion of the game. You can access the Grand Underground by speaking to the Underground Man in the house next to the Pokemon Center in Eterna City and getting the Explorer’s Kit.
