It is hard to deny the value of Xbox Pass, with the service currently having over 400 titles available to download for one monthly fee.

Game Pass gets all first and second party titles on day one, meaning players don’t need to purchase the latest games, such as Halo Infinite, for upwards of $70.

2020 saw the addition of EA Play to the service, adding 90 more games, and the addition of Game Pass For PC, allowing players to download dozens of titles on PC.

The top tier subscription, Game Pass Ultimate, also allows players to stream games to mobile devices, including Halo, Forza, Gears of War, and even GTA V.

Game Pass Coming To Steam

According to Tyler McVicker, a prominent industry insider when it comes to Valve, recently stated that Valve are looking to add Xbox Game Pass to their Steam platform.

Recently Valve added EA Play to Steam, much like Game Pass has, and in recent years began working with Microsoft to bring many titles to the platform, including Halo: Master Chief Collection, Grounded, and Forza Horizon 4.

By adding Game Pass to Steam, it would open up the service to many more players and dramatically increase visibility.

With Microsoft being all about accessibility and the Xbox ecosystem this generation, encouraging more players to subscribe to Game Pass through Steam sounds like a logical move.

Currently Game Pass For PC only has a fraction of the games compared to its console counterpart, mainly because the games haven’t been released on the Windows Store.

However, a larger selection of the console Game Pass library are on Steam, which could open the possibility of Game Pass expanding further on PC, perhaps even bringing games that are exclusive to Steam’s version of the service.

So far this is no news on whether these talks are taking place, but with Tyler leaking it then it is definitely possible.

Xbox are also said to be trying to lure a prominent Japanese developer to the Xbox Game Studios group, so it seems that Microsoft are making huge plays right now to try and secure an advantage early on in the next console generation.
