DC FanDome is well underway now and there’s so much news to talk about! WB Games’ long-anticipated Gotham Knights is one game that has a lot of eyes on it – now, we know when it’s due to come out! Here’s everything we know about Gotham Knights and what date it’s due to release…

Gotham Knights Release Date

Gotham Knights was first revealed during August 2020’s DC FanDome event and now, a year on, we have a release date to talk about. According to the latest announcements, we’re going to be able to play Gotham Knights sometime in 2022, much like the equally anticipated Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

It’s a little longer than we’d like to wait for Gotham Knights, but it’s going to be worthwhile.

Gotham Knights is a spiritual successor to the Arkham Series – although, according to the developers it’s an entirely new story separate from the events that take place. The game features four playable characters: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood in a Gotham City where Batman and Commissioner Gordon have both been killed.

Lawlessness reigns and it’s up to the surviving members of the Bat-Fam – known as the Gotham Knights, we guess – to take on the villains of Gotham City and continue the legacy left by the World’s Greatest Detective. The Court of Owls are going to be the overarching antagonist, but expect to see a few familiar faces – both friendly and unfriendly – along the way.

From what we’ve seen so far, this is going to play a lot like an Arkham game – however, there’s a new level of cooperative play that will surely make this worth picking up. It’s important to note that it looks like it’s only going to be a two-person co-op, despite the four main playable characters. Still… It’s a start, right?
