GTA V: How To Swap Weapons On PC

Los Santos is a dangerous place and you’ll need to know how to swap weapons if you’re playing GTA V on PC. Surprisingly, it isn’t as obvious as you might think. We’ve got everything you need to know below.

There are almost too many weapons available in Grand Theft Auto V nowadays. The choice is overwhelming!

That doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing just yet though. Whether you’re popping off at a range or going guns blazing up close, you’re going to need to know one vital thing…

Here’s everything you need to know about how to swap weapons while playing GTA V on your PC.

How To Swap GTA V Weapons On PC

In order to swap weapons on GTA V on PC you’ll need to hold TAB to bring up the Weapon Wheel.

Then, all you need to do is use the mouse to select the desired Weapon Category from the wheel and scroll to switch between every weapon in your arsenal of that type.

This will work for Pistols, Assault Rifles, Melee Weapons, and all the rest! You can find a detailed look at GTA V’s Weapon Wheel on the GTA Wiki from Fandom here.

In addition to this, on the default settings, each Weapon Category is assigned a number key. If you tap this, you’ll swap to that weapon without needing to open the Weapon Wheel.

However… If you tap this more than once, you’ll be able to cycle through them! This is a great tip for swapping weapons on the fly, as pulling up the Weapon Wheel can be a little bit of a time-consuming thing mid-gunfight.

Please note that the following only applies to the Default Settings for GTA V on PC.

If you’ve been playing around with them, we recommend resetting them to default before changing them again. It’s easier to break these things that it seems!
