New Genshin Impact x Domino’s Pizza Collab coming for Southeast Asia

After the huge popularity of their recent Pizza Hut collab, it seems that Hoyoverse will keep partnering with restaurants around the world. This time, a Genshin Impact x Domino’s will be hosted in Southeast Asia, featuring exclusive food combos and merchandise for those participating.

The so-called “Paimon’s Gastronomical Journey” collab event page features exclusive arts for Amber, who was also present in the Pizza Hut collab, and Jean, whose Special Dish is none other than the Invigorating Pizza, created when cooking the regular Mushroom Pizza recipe.

Just like previous collaborations with restaurants, the Genshin Impact x Domino’s event will be reserved for only a few countries. More specifically, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. You can check more details on the official event page.

Genshin Impact x Domino’s Pizza collab information

The collab will be hosted in both Malaysia and Singapore from 14 September to 26 October, and a week less in Thailand, where it will be going from 21 September to 26 October. 

Differently from the previous collabs, there seems to be no special art from characters wearing uniforms for the restaurants. In the same vein, we shouldn’t be seeing any attendants cosplaying as the game characters either, something that got very popular in the recent Pizza Hut events.

The participating restaurants will temporarily feature exclusive combos inspired by the game. Namely, the “Emergency Food Combo” based on Paimon’s infamous nickname will be the main attraction for this collab, featuring special prices for products and exclusive Genshin merch. It comes in two versions.

The page also lists special activities for attendees for some specific days, so keep your eyes open if you’re planning to get some real-life emergency food in this new collab.

Considering the huge Genshin Impact popularity, which led to a Pizza Hut unit being so crowded that it had to be temporarily shut down due to the violation of COVID-19 protocols, this version should also bring lots of pizza + Genshin lovers to the restaurants.

The user DJEJ from the Hoyolab forums shared some of the promotional cardboard cutouts from the event. They include both the Travelers, Amber and Jean in their regular outfits.

Is the Genshin Impact x Domino’s collab coming to the west?

Just like other collabs before, Hoyoverse seems to currently have no plans for bringing these collabs to the rest of the world. Most of the previous collaborations have always been focused on the East, being mostly partnerships with Japanese cafes or hosted in China only, as was the case with KFC and Pizza Hut.

While they do bring some real-life events for other countries, as was the case with the Teleporters in many parts of the world, these big collabs with restaurants haven’t become a reality yet. As a result, the exclusive KFC wings were later distributed in a very controversial way to the rest of the world.

But it’s not that other countries don’t like the game as much as Asia does, as raw numbers show that’s really not the case. A Genshin Impact x Domino’s collab would surely be successful anywhere in the world, so it’s most likely just a matter of time until it becomes a reality.
