Genshin Impact: Are Nahida and Kusanali the same character?

HoYoverse has recently teased us with what to expect in Sumeru. In the new Prelude to Wisdom teaser, we are taken on a short tour in the new region where we have seen some upcoming characters in the following order: Tighnari, Al-Haitham, Dehya, Nilou, a girl named Nahida, and Cyno.
The teaser describes Nahida as a “mysterious girl,” and that’s the mystery that we will try to unravel in this article. So, if you’re curious about her, we’ll share with you what we already know and think.
Take note, however, to take the information here with a grain of salt as these are mostly based on leaks and speculations.
How are Nahida and Kusanali related?
As a nation that values wisdom, it is only fitting for Sumeru to be under the God of Wisdom, and that is the Lesser Lord Kusanali.
HoYoverse hasn’t confirmed this yet, but leaks suggest that Kusanali and Nahida are, in a way, the same character. Based on what we have seen so far, the two appear to share the same model—a young girl with a side ponytail who wears a white dress with green accents.
Well, they may not exactly be the same character in the same way that the Raiden Shogun is not actually the Electro Archon, but rather, a puppet designed after Ei. However, we are still not sure how this is going to play out. Maybe Nahida is actually Kusanali similar to Venti being Barbatos and Zhongli being Rex Lapis.
Whatever the case is, it’s typical for Archons in Genshin Impact to have several names, so the Dendro Archon having a lot of names won’t come out as a surprise.
When are we going to see Nahida in-game?
Based on the teaser, the Traveler will meet Nahida as the “journey continues” in Sumeru. As she is presumably the Dendro Archon or closely related to said god, she will definitely play a major role in the region’s lore and will most likely make her first appearance in Version 3.0.
However, this doesn’t mean that she will be playable by then. It is typical for HoYoverse to release the official art of upcoming characters, and earlier this month, they shared the official art of Tighnari, Dori, and Collei. There’s no Kusanali or Nahida there yet, which could only mean that she will still not be playable in 3.0—that is, if she is really going to be playable at some point.
If she will be, she will most likely be released in Version 3.1 or 3.2, similar to how the Raiden Shogun was released in 2.1. According to data miner @genshinmains, she is expected to arrive at 3.2.
What is Nahida’s element? What is her weapon?
There is still no official information about Nahida‘s element, but if she really is the Dendro Archon, then it only follows that she will use Dendro. According to @genshinmains, the catalyst is her weapon of choice.
