Genshin Impact is full of amazing characters, having a wide selection of not only playable characters, but also NPCs, each with their own characteristics.
But between all of the Genshin cast, Dainsleif is, without a doubt, one of its most mysterious and fascinating characters.
But who is Dainsleif? Check out below, everything you need to know about the man once known as the “Twilight Sword” of Khaenri’ah.

Dainsleif appeared for the first time on Genshin Impact’s Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview Trailer, as the narrator of the video, and the featured character for its chapter, ”The Dream Yet to be Dreamed”, which will take place in Khaenri’ah.

Who is Dainsleif?
Dainsleif is a native of the nation of Khaenri’ah, once the pride of humanity. He, as one of the nation’s best, received the title of Twilight Sword, becoming its protector.
But, 500 years ago, Khaenri’ah was destroyed by the gods and was engulfed in flames. And Dainsleif, after failing to protect his people, was cursed to live eternally to watch as they turn into monsters, into The Abyss Order.
Because of the fate of his nation, Dainsleif does not trust or respects the gods, and act on his own, without their aid. In the present, he fights to eradicate the Abyss Order, as their sworn enemy.
The Bough Keeper and the Abyss
During the game’s newest quest, which also revealed the details about Dainsleif’s past, and the connection between the nation of Khaenri’ah, and the Abyss Order. It was also revealed that he and one of the leaders of the Abyss Order know each other, having an unspoken past.
The mysterious leader, which is also the Traveller’s missing sibling, disappeared through a dark portal at the end of the quest, with Dainsleif following them thought before it closed.
Genshin Impact is currently available for the PlayStation 4. PlayStation 5, via backward compatibility, mobile devices – Android, iOS – and PC, via miHoYo’s official launcher.
A native version of the game for the PlayStation 5 is coming later this year and will feature improved graphics, framerate, and faster loading times. A version of the game for the Nintendo Switch is also reportedly in development.
The game’s new version 1.5 is expected to be released later this month, after the end of the second banner of its current version.
Dainsleif is rumored to be a playable character in the future, but his arrival still seems to be far into the distance. He is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal in English, and TSUDA Kenjiro in Japanese.
