Genshin Impact: Where to find Starconch

Genshin Impact can be very scenic, and walking along the Liyue coasts means finding many crabs and beautiful seashells called Starconch. They say that if you hold it close to your ear, you’ll hear the sound of the sea!

Empty seashells brought ashore by the tides. Hold it close to your ear, and hear the longing calls of the sea.

Starconch Locations in Genshin Impact

There are several ways to get a Starconch in Genshin Impact. It can be found in the wild, purchased, and can even be obtained for free!

In the Wild

Since Starconch is a seashell, this Local Specialty can be found on the beaches of Liyue. However, they are specifically found on Yaoguang Shoal and in Guyun Stone Forest.

As a Local Specialty in Liyue, another interesting location for Starconch is the southern beach of Dragonspine (technically already a part of Mondstadt), which is adjacent to Yaoguang Shoal.

Note that Bolai is located in the lower section of Liyue Harbor, on the dock front.

For Free

If you want to get Starconch x3 for free, you can talk to the NPC Miss Bu. She can be found on the beach near the Conch Lodge at Yaoguang Shoal. Note that you can only get this once after following a dialogue branch about a “legend.”

Starconch in Ascension

Starconch can be used for ascending the following characters in Genshin Impact:

  • Tartaglia
  • Yelan

So far, no weapons require Starconch for Ascension.

While you’re here, you might also be interested in grabbing some Qingxin, which is also used as a character ascension material much like Starconches are. Qingxin is useful for Xiao, Shenhe and Ganyu.
