Genshin Impact: Where to find Onikabuto

Onikabuto is a Local Specialty in the Inazuma region of Genshin Impact. According to Inazuman folktale, the Onikabuto doesn’t like conflicts. As such, back when the gods were allocating territories for many animals, these creatures chose first to settle in lands saturated in the Electro element.

Years passed and the Onikabuto evolved. They now have strange patterns. They now also have horns that can release electricity to frighten potential predators. However, even with their armor and horns, they have remained docile and sedentary.

A strange beetle that inhabits areas rich with Electro energy. Its docile and sedentary temperament could not be more different from the fierce, demonic visage displayed on its armored shell.

Onikabuto locations in Genshin Impact

There are no shops that sell Onikabuto in Genshin Impact, but you can find a lot of them in the wild. You can even get some for free, too!

In the wild

As a Local Specialty, Onikabuto is generally found in Inazuma. Specifically, this strange beetle can be found lounging on trees or rocks in areas with high concentrations of Electro. Such areas include parts of Narukami Island, Kannazuka, Yashiori Island, and Seirai Island.

For Onikabuto which can be found high up on a tree, you will need to climb the tree to reach it. Unlike Apples or Sunsettias that fall after hitting trees, doing so won’t make the Onikabuto fall.

For free

If you want to get Onikabuto x4 for free, you can talk to the NPC Shouta and follow a certain dialogue branch. He is located in Inazuma City. This is the same Shouta from the “O Archon, Have I Done Right?” World Quest. Note that you can only claim this set of Onikabuto once.

Onikabuto in crafting

This Local Specialty can be used to craft the following items:

Electro Treasure Compass	– Golden Raven Insignia ×10 – Onikabuto ×30 – Crystal Chunk ×50 – Mora ×50,000	A compass that can be used in Inazuma to search for nearby chests. If a chest is nearby, then it goes on cooldown for 30 seconds, otherwise, 5 seconds.

Onikabuto in ascension
