Genshin Impact: What Weapon Will Shikanoin Heizou Use?

From heavy two-handed swords called claymores to floating books and orb-like weapons called catalysts, there’s a weapon for every playable Genshin Impact character. 

Recently, HoYoverse announced an upcoming playable character named Shikanoin Heizou. With this, fans speculate what his weapon will be. 

While the developers have yet to officially announce more information about the new character, including his weapon, let’s talk about the possibilities based on his official art and what leakers have to say.

What is the weapon in Shikanoin Heizou’s official art? 

First, let’s take a look at his official art.

The official art shows that Shikanoin Heizou has some kind of weapon strapped on his waist. 

Upon closer look, this weapon is a jitte, a specialized weapon that was used by police in Japan during the Edo Period. This is understandable considering that Shikanoin Heizou is a detective in Inazuma, which is a Japanese-themed nation. 

The jitte is notable for its unique hook called kagi, which, by the looks of it, was most likely used to capture and arrest swords or several other weapons after blocking them with the weapon’s shaft or boshin.

Will Shikanoin Heizou use jitte in-game? 

This is perhaps the biggest question if we talk about Heizou’s offense. Considering that there isn’t a jitte weapon category in Genshin Impact, we are yet to find out how he is going to use the said weapon.  

However, Lumie, one of the most reliable Genshin Impact leakers, said that Heizou will be the first male catalyst user (to the dismay of some Scaramouche fans). 

So, what’s with the jitte? Surely, it’s not just going to be suspended on his waist all the time!

This leads us into thinking that, if he is indeed going to be a catalyst user, he might be using the jitte similar to how Kamisato Ayaka uses her fan and Yae Miko uses her Shinto wand in battle. 

While Ayaka is a sword user, she uses her fan when casting her Elemental Skill and Burst. On the other hand, Yae Miko is a catalyst user but channels her Electro Vision through her Shinto wand.
