Part of the new “The crane returns on the wind” quest in Genshin Impact needs you to use visions to find Starsplinter iron – here’s how.

How to use Visions to find Starsplinter Iron in Genshin Impact

This is a bit of a confusing objective when you first get it, but it’s much simpler than it appears. Elemental sight won’t really do much here, which is what you’d expect the answer to be given it’s about the only “vision” style power we know the Traveller to have and can activate on demand.

Instead of anything to do with elemental sight, however, you can beat the Use Visions to find the Starsplinter iron objective by simply finding the rocks manually – they’re both located just above you, with no hints towards this.

The first is directly up the stone pillar next to where you start the search.

The second can be found if you turn to your side, hidden away on the cliff-face atop some jagged rock.

All you need to do is grab both of the Starsplinter iron here and that’s this objective dealt with. I’m not quite sure where the use visions part came from in the objective in all honesty, while it’s mentioned as a thing it reacts to in the story, it’s not something that comes up in the actual quest while searching for them.

Personally, it seems to me this objective would have been much better off if there had been an elemental trace to both samples of Starsplinter iron in elemental sight, but that’s just my take on how to make it less confusing.
