Genshin Impact: Scaramouche/Wanderer’s Ascension Materials and Locations (Updated December 2022)
After two years of speculations and leaks, the wait is finally over! The Wanderer, or the playable version of the Fatui Harbinger Scaramouche, has arrived in Genshin Impact Version 3.3 Phase 1.
This character’s in-game animations were previously leaked, showing us that he is NOT just another Shikanoin Heizou. We feel you; it was very exciting when we first saw that! We also know that you want to get everything in order before you pull for this character, or maybe now that you already have him.

VAYUDA TURQUOISE GEMS
This group of gems is used for ascending Anemo characters. You can obtain them primarily by fighting Normal Bosses and Weekly Bosses.

If you’re new to the game, you can craft higher rarity gems or convert one gem into another via Alchemy. You can do this by interacting with the crafting benches in the different cities in Teyvat.
PERPETUAL CALIBER
The Normal Boss Aeonblight Drake drops this character ascension material. Note that, unlike most bosses, this one doesn’t also drop the Vayuda Turquoise Gems required by The Wanderer, so you might have to farm Perpetual Caliber and his gems separately or convert the gems you get from Aeonblight Drake into Vayuda Turquoise Gems.
This Normal Boss is located in Ardravi Valley, Sumeru. Check out the map below for your reference:
RUKKHASHAVA MUSHROOMS
This fungus is a Local Specialty in Sumeru and, therefore, can only be found in the region. Notable farming locations include Ashavan Realm and Lokapala Jungle. You may check out our Rukkhashava Mushroom Locations Guide here or see the locations on the map below:
HANDGUARD
This group of common ascension materials includes Old Handguard, Kageuchi Handguard, and Famed Handguard. These are dropped by enemies Nobushi and Kairigi in Inazuma. Should you need more of these items, you can check the enemy’s location by going to the Paimon Menu > Adventurer Handbook > Enemies > Nobushi > Navigate.
If you’re new to the game, you can craft higher rarity handguards. You can do this by interacting with the crafting benches in the different cities in Teyvat.
The Wanderer’s Talent Materials
The Wanderer‘s talent “books” or Talent Ascension Materials are the Praxis set. This set can be obtained by challenging the Steeple of Ignorance domain on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is located near Chatrakam Cave.
You can also craft higher rarity Praxis books via Alchemy.
Beyond Level 6 of The Wanderer’s Talents, he will need the Talent Level-up Material called Daka’s Bell, which can be obtained from the Joururi Workshop domain or the domain where you can fight Scaramouche.
