Genshin Impact: Perils in the Dark World Quest Guide

Perils in the Dark is a World Quest under The Chasm Delvers chain of quests. 

In this guide, we will talk about the steps for you to complete Perils in the Dark, which include solving bell puzzles and defeating bosses.

Let’s start with the first details of the quest: 

“The strange crystal plummeted toward the ground and shattered it, revealing an entrance to even greater depths. Who knows what’s down there… But either way, it would be best to proceed with caution.” 

It’s important to note that in order to unlock this quest, your Adventure Rank should be 28 or above. You must also already have completed The Heavenly Stone’s Debris which is also part of The Chasm Delvers chain of quests.

Now let’s proceed with the steps: 

Step 1: Enter and approach the dark fog 

As indicated in the quest details, “the ground shattered” and revealed “an entrance to even greater depths.” Glide down from this entrance and approach the dark fog in the middle. 

Step 2: Uncover the Fatuus’ Journal 

Use the Lumenstone Adjuvant to remove the Dark Mud. By doing so, you will uncover the Fatuus’ Journal. Read the journal to light up the area. 

Step 3: Complete the bell puzzles. 

There are 2 bell puzzles. To complete the one on the north, below are the steps: 

  1. From the Nameless Ruins, go north to get to the Central Area near the waypoint.   
  1. Climb up the area until you see locked monuments and some Dark Mud.  
  1. Defeat the Abyss Mages and recharge the vines with your Lumenstone Adjuvant. (Note: To do this, you need at least 3 bars of energy.) 
  1. Hit the vines. This will release a projectile that will hit the monument and clear the Dark Mud.  
  1. Defeat the Shadowy Husks. This will unlock the monuments again.  
  1. Hit the bell between two torches to make it ring.

To complete the bell puzzle on the south, below are the steps: 

  1. From Stony Halls, go south until you find a ravine. 
  1. Glide over the ravine until you get to the farthest area. (Note: As much as possible, do not fall. If you do, you’ll have to teleport to go back on top.) 
  1. Once you reach the area, you’ll see four rock crosses and two Luminous Seelies. The goal is to light all crosses simultaneously with Lumen Energy. 
  1. Use the Lumenstone Adjuvant to destroy the Dark Mud on the western cross. 
  1. Recharge the Lumen Monument to light up the southern cross. 
  1. Spread out the two Luminous Seelies on the west and east crosses. 
  1. As for the last cross on the north, stand beside it to complete the puzzle. 
  1. Get the chest. This will trigger an air current and another Luminous Seelie.  
  1. Ride on the air current. 
  1. While the Luminous Seelie is on one side, stand beside the cross on the opposite side to activate the mechanism. 
  1. Go down to see a Ruin Grader sitting on the Dark Mud. 
  1. Remove the Oozing Concretion using the Lumenstone Adjuvant. 
  1. Defeat the Ruin Grader. 
  1. Ring the bell.

Step 4: Defeat Agnarr and Egill. 

Take note that Agnarr and Egill are Electro and Pyro Abyss Lectors respectively. If you’re having a hard time, you may try prioritizing defeating one enemy first. This hasn’t been proven to be true to all players, but YouTuber KRYZGAMING defeated Agnarr first and had to teleport because of running low on HP. Expecting to find the two again for a rematch, the Youtuber was surprised to see only Egill.

Step 5: Pick up the Curious Cube. 

After defeating the Abyss Lectors, they will leave behind the Curious Cube. Pick it up to complete the quest. 

The rewards for Perils in the Dark include Adventure EXP ×450, Primogem ×50, Mora ×50000, Hero’s Wit ×5, and Mystic Enhancement Ore ×6.
