Genshin Impact: Orb of the Blue Depths locations and how to use them

Orb of the Blue Depths is a quest item found in the Underground Mines of The Chasm. 

It is an item that serves as a key to opening the Secret Room in the Underground Mines. 

“A strange gem left behind by a foe from the Abyss. If you look into it hard, it is almost as if you are looking into a long-borne dream shrouded by a deep fog.” 

But where do you find the Orb of the Blue Depths?  

The quest item is dropped by named Black Serpent Knights found around The Chasm. Below are the Black Serpent Knights and where to find them.

Haltaf

From the waypoint closest to The Serpent’s Cave, glide down to an area filled with Dark Mud. You can find Haltaf there. As the mud can cause several debuffs, it’s recommended to clear it first before fighting the knight. 

Skeld 

Go to the waypoint in the Ad Hoc Main Tunnel and glide down. Below, you will find a closed gate. Use a Miner’s Key to open it. Enter and you will be able to fight Skeld. 

Edgetho

Edgetho’s area can’t be accessed through the physically nearest waypoint which is south of the Underground Waterway. Instead, go to the one south of The Chasm: Main Mining Area. From there, head west until you get to the area indicated in the map below.

Hyglacg

From the waypoint south of the Underground Waterway, glide down to the ruins. Go through the ruins and locate the knight. 

Serkir

From the waypoint nearest to the Nameless Ruins, glide down to an area next to the Nameless Ruins. You will find the knight in a small area filled with Dark Mud. 

Buliwyf

You will find the knight in a closed room south of the Underground Waterway. To break the wall and get inside the room, you will need to use a Geo attack. 

Roneth

At the south of the camp, you will find exploding Geo mushrooms. Activate them to break the wall, so you can glide down. This is quite a long drop, but you will find the knight at the bottom.  

Herger

From the waypoint north of The Glowing Narrows, go east until you find Geo mushrooms. Activate them to create an entrance. Enter and you should find the knight inside. 

Rethel Lumenspar  

From the waypoint north of The Glowing Narrows, go west until you reach the area indicated in the map below. You will need to glide down to find the knight.

How to Use the Orb of the Blue Depths 

At this point, you should have already collected Orb of the Blue Depths x9. But where and how do you use them? 

Below are the steps:

  1. Go to the waypoint in the Nameless Ruins.  
  1. Glide down and head across to the tower. 
  1. Climb up the tower wall to reach the area indicated in the image below.

  1. Once in the area, turn right to get to the next tower. 
  1. Once you’re in the next tower, go up following a broken pillar. 
  1. Glide down to get to the next area, following a big tree branch. 
  1. Once in the next are, glide down until you see the mechanism in the image below.

  1. Interact with the mechanism and use the Orb of the Blue Depths x9. 
  1. Enter the Secret room and open all the chests.  

You will find a Mysterious Letter in the Secret Room, but as for now, claim your reward in the chests. You deserve it.
