Genshin Impact: New world details after the Raiden Shogun quest

new details after the raiden shogun quest featured

One of the best details in Genshin Impact is how the world changes after you complete certain objectives, and the new Raiden Shogun quest also gives some of these. There are a lot of small updates that a keen player may notice while exploring, all of them helping with the immersion fantasy of the game.

NPCs change their behavior depending on your completed quests (such as Anna recovering from her illness after completing certain commissions), and some areas have permanent changes (such as stopping the rain in Yashiori Island). And for this new quest introduced in 2.5, there are more changes than simply the introduction of a new weekly boss.

If you haven’t completed the aforementioned quest yet, there will be some spoilers below.

All of the new details after the Raiden Shogun quest

At the end of the Imperatrix Umbrosa Act II quest, Ei announces that the Sakoku Decree will be revoked. Notice that only the Vision Hunt Decree was abolished after the Archon Quests, and the Sakoku Decree, the one that closed off Inazuma from the rest of the world, was still active.

So now the whole world has access to Inazuma again, and its people are free to come and go. The characters in the game do acknowledge this fact, and you can easily see some of the changes.

The first one is a well-known fact. The two Fatui near the Mondstadt teleporter will always comment on the most recent story events. They commented on Signora’s death after the Archon Quests in Inazuma, and now they’re talking about the end of the Sakoku Decree.

You may remember Atsuko, an Inazuman NPC introduced back in the 1.0 version. She was initially found in Liyue Harbor, and wanted to go back to her home, but was unable since the frontiers were closed. She’s now back at her home in Inazuma City, and she’s aware of the Tanuki that impersonated her during a sidequest.

Many people avoid the Hangout Events, but they also have some small nods and nice interactions aside from their rewards. During Thoma’s “A Lingering Fragrance” route, he comments multiple times on the Sakoku Decree having been abolished and hopes that this will bring more people to visit Inazuma. His previous dialogue was about his hopes on the Decree being abolished in the first place.

Here’s a comparison. The old dialogue comes from a video from the Youtube channel Noxxis Gaming on the hangout.

But the biggest change was that now, it’s actually possible to go to Inazuma by “regular means”. When the region was first introduced, trying to reach it by Ice bridging with Kaeya was impossible, as you would be hit by a thunderstorm if you got close enough. But after completing the new Raiden Shogun quest, the storm is gone.

You may remember that one Reddit post where a person managed to get to Inazuma at AR 9 by using a disconnect trick and creating bridges on water. This method has most likely been patched, and it’s not necessary anymore.

Going to the islands by ice bridging is now possible, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re bored of course. Otherwise, you can simply use the Waveriders to cross from Ritou to Liyue Harbor and vice versa.

Other small changes are some minor NPC dialogues through the city reflecting on the end of the decree. It’s nice to know that Hoyoverse implements those details to make your actions feel like they are important to the rest of the world and that it changes alongside you.
