Genshin Impact: How to try to unlock the rooms located deep within in the ‘An Introduction to Indoor Archaeology’ quest
In the An Introduction to Indoor Archaeology quest, you’ll find yourself solving puzzles within Khemenu Temple. Deeper into the temple, Genshin Impact will tell you to “try to unlock the rooms located deep within.”
While trying to complete this objective, you will be introduced to new exploration mechanics that will surely be vital in the desert subregion of Sumeru. However, you might have a hard time figuring out how they work.

How to try to unlock the rooms located deep within
Just like in the previous quest objective, where you needed to proceed deeper within Khemenu Temple, unlocking the rooms within will require you to gather two (2) Primal Embers and lead them to the Primal Torch. There are also two (2) rooms here.
In the northern room (Jeht and Benben are standing outside), follow the steps below to try to unlock the rooms located deep within:
STEP 1: Step on the panel and wait for it to vanish. Then, glide down.
STEP 2: Follow the Seelie that you’ll find in the lower area.
STEP 3: Defeat the enemies around the structure in the room where the Seelie will lead you.
STEP 4: Climb the structure and activate the Primal Sandglass challenge in the area. Doing so will make some temporary Four-Leaf Sigils appear. If you complete the challenge, they will appear permanently.
STEP 5: Use the Four-Leaf Sigils to reach the Primal Ember in the area.
STEP 6: Release the Primal Ember and follow it until it reaches the Primal Torch.
In the southern room (where you will find Jebrael), follow the steps below to try to unlock the rooms located deep within:
STEP 1: Follow the quest marker until you reach an area with a ship.
STEP 2: Use the Four-Leaf Sigils to reach the top of the ship, where you will find a Dendroculus and a Forged Primal Light (blue triangular orb).
STEP 3: Pick up the Forged Primal Light and step on the panel on the ship’s deck. Doing so will spawn the Primal Ember.
STEP 4: Release the Primal Ember and follow it.
STEP 5: Along the way, you will come across Large Fan Blades that will turn on and off by themselves. They will blow away the Primal Ember, so make sure to release the ember again only when the fans are at rest.
STEP 6: Continue following the Primal Ember until it reaches the Primal Torch.
Once the two (2) Primal Embers are placed on the Primal Torches, you should have completed the objective “try to unlock the rooms located deep within,” allowing you to explore the ruins further.
