Genshin Impact: How to pass the three trials in the ‘Dreams Beneath the Searing Sand’ quest

Dreams Beneath the Searing Sand is the final quest in the four-part Golden Slumber quest series. In this quest, you and the party will go to Khaj-Nisut, where you will have to “pass the three trials.”
Just like the objectives in the previous parts of this quest chain (such as proceeding deeper within Khemenu Temple and unlocking the rooms located deep within), puzzles will need to be solved along the way. Other puzzles might be easy to solve, but there are those that will prove to be more “puzzling” than others.
This guide will walk you through this part of the Dreams Beneath the Searing Sand quest and let you pass the three trials without breaking any sweat.
Locations of ‘Pass the three trials’ objective in the ‘Dreams Beneath the Searing Sand’ quest
As there are three trials during this part of the quest, there are also three areas where the “pass the three trials” objective will take place. Check out the map below for the locations of the trials. For your reference, we have assigned a number for each of them.
Pass the three trials: How to pass Trial 1
From the Teleport Waypoint indicated on the map, glide down to find the entrance of the ruins where the first trial will take place. Then, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Operate the Plinth of the Secret Rites to activate a wind current to your right.
STEP 2: Drop down the wind current and enter the next room by operating another Plinth. Inside, you will find a Replicator Keystone Puzzle. To solve this, pick up the Forged Primal Lights in the area and carry them to the Keystone.
STEP 3: Touch the cell that the Keystone revealed to open the door to the next area.
STEP 4: Solve the Replicator Keystone Puzzle in the area and touch the Verity Cell. Then, while the Verity Cell is active, go near the closed door to open it.
STEP 5: In the next area, operate the Plinth of the Secret Rites to open another door where you will find a wind current.
STEP 6: Drop down the wind current to reach the next room. Here, you will have to defeat one Primal Construct enemy to be able to operate another Plinth.
STEP 7: Operate the Plinth to access the next room, and open a Common Chest inside to acquire the Keystone (I).
STEP 8: Go back to the previous room (where you fought one enemy) and use the Keystone (I) on the door with a small yellow glow to open it.
STEP 9: In the newly opened room, you will find another Common Chest with the Keystone (II). You will also need to solve a Replicator Keystone Puzzle here.
STEP 10: Go to the other door with a small yellow glow and use the Keystone (II) there. Then, solve a Replicator Keystone Puzzle to unlock another door.
STEP 11: Go to the altar at the center of the room and operate the Plinth of the Secret Rites to complete the first part of the “pass the three trials” objective.
Pass the three trials: How to pass Trial 2
Once Trial 1 is completed, head over to the location of Trial 2 that we indicated on the map in the first section of this guide. Then, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Operate the Plinth of the Secret Rites.
STEP 2: Glide down to the area on your left. Note that this was previously blocked.
STEP 3: Defeat the Primal Construct enemies in the lower area to unlock the Plinth of the Secret Rites. Then, operate it to unlock another lower level.
STEP 4: Head down to the lower level and defeat another set of Primal Construct enemies in the area to unlock the Plinth of the Secret Rites. Doing so will complete the second part of the “pass the three trials” objective.
Pass the three trials: How to pass Trial 3
Once Trial 2 is completed, head over to the location of Trial 3 that we indicated on the map in the first section of this guide. Then, follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Operate the Plinth of the Secret Rites to unblock your next path.
STEP 2: Glide down to the area on your right. Note that there will be an invisible floor here, so you might want to glide down slowly to avoid taking damage.
STEP 3: Head over to the upper right corner of the room, so you can go down to a lower level.
STEP 4: Once you drop to a lower level, turn around and try to go to the opposite direction. The trick here is to go to the opposite direction every time you drop down. Continue doing this until you reach the visible floor below.
STEP 5: Operate the Plinth of the Secret Rites. Doing so will complete the third part of the “pass the three trials” objective.
Once this is done, the “pass the three trials” objective should be completed. Later, you will be exploring the ruins more and will be tasked to “activate the mechanism in the center of the hall.”
