Genshin Impact: How to open rock covered Chests

Genshin Impact has a large map riddled with treasures – but some are harder to access than others, and the rock-covered chests are an example of this.

So how do we crack these open, anyway?

How to open a rock Chest in Genshin Impact

These are quite simple little “puzzles” in all honesty – you just need to hit it hard enough. They work in a similar manner to minable ore, in that heavy attacks or simply enough damage cracks the rock right off and exposes the chest below.

So, what qualifies as a heavy attack for the purpose of breaking these open?

• Claymore Attacks
• Geo elemental damage sources
• Overload elemental damage
• Plunging attacks
• Additionally, some talents may cause attacks to be considered heavy attacks – Klee is an example of this.

If you have any characters similar to Zhongli around, Geo abilities will quickly demolish the entire health bar with less of a fuss.

Once you crack the rock off the chests in Genshin Impact, that’s it – you can open the chest right away.

That is all, yep – it’s a fairly simple puzzle with a solution that isn’t really fitting of the name puzzle, given the solution is simply hitting it harder.
