PlayStation’s PS5 has been out for a little while now and it’s one of the most powerful consoles out there today. If you’re playing Genshin Impact on the PS5, you’re going to be treated to a native 4K resolution, HDR support, faster loading times, and integrated DualSense features that make miHoYo’s game feel more alive than ever. However… What about 120 fps? If you want to enable 120 fps gameplay with Genshin Impact on a PS5 console, you’re going to want to know this…

How to enable 120 fps in Genshin Impact on PS5

Unlike Genshin Impact on iOS devices, you can’t currently enable 120 fps gameplay on a PS5 console. It’s an unusual omission to make from the latest Genshin Impact title update, but it’s still not a feature supported on next-gen consoles.

What makes things even more confusing is the fact that PS5 consoles are built specifically with 120 fps support in mind. Only a handful of games support this at the moment, though, and you have to wonder if it’s because the standard TV – OLED, 4K, or otherwise – don’t support 120hz displays at the moment.

You can get Monitors that support more than 120hz quite easily – if they’re not 4K monitors they’re quite cheap! However, TVs haven’t made the jump yet on a large-enough scale to justify the additional effort to develop a smooth and stable experience with 120 fps on console games.

We can’t imagine that we’ll be waiting long, though, as the iOS version of Genshin Impact has 120 fps. However, the Android and PC versions of Genshin Impact are still locked at 30 fps or 60 fps. A lot of PCs will be powerful enough to tackle 120 fps Genshin Impact, so we just have to hope miHoYo is working on enabling this feature in the next update.
