Genshin Impact has a lot of resources that are worth mining for, but boy is it slow – so how can you mine faster?
Luckily for us all, that’s precisely what this article is here to answer – because the time taken to mine some rocks with typical attacks is too damn much.
Why should I mine in Genshin Impact?
Mining ores when you see them via beating the hell out of them is a good way to get important crafting materials.
Iron chunks and White Iron chunks can be used for a wide variety of purposes, including making more Enhancement Ore from tier 1 and tier 2 respectively.
Meanwhile, Crystal chunks and Starsilver chunks are used in forging a number of 4-star weapons with the Blacksmiths dotted around the world. And if you’re a F2P player, you’ll know to value those 4-star weapons.
Not to mention magical crystal ore, pictured below – which is used to produce Mystic Enhancement Ore in bulk using Resin.

So how do I mine faster then?
Yeah just hitting the rocks with a sword doesn’t go particularly fast does it? Don’t even bother trying with a bow, it gets even worse there.
No the secret to mining any attack that is considered a “heavy attack” – of which there are unfortunately few.
Damage Sources considered as Heavy Attacks:
- Claymore attacks – the easiest choice
- Geo elemental damage – great if you have a solid Geo character
- Overlord Elemental Reaction damage.
- Additionally, some talents may cause attacks to be considered heavy attacks – Klee is an example of this.

Those are ALL the options?
Unfortunately, yes, that’s pretty much all of them. Unless Dendro turns out to be great for mining or a good mining gadget gets added, it seems battering rocks with a Claymore will be the best option we get for a while.
With that said, unfortunately that’s about all the advice on making mining faster there is to know Travellers, best of luck finding those resources you’ll need.
