Genshin Impact Fir Wood, how and where to get Fir Wood

The new Genshin Impact update has added a player housing system – and you’ll need plenty of Fir wood if you plan to build everything.

Luckily for you, we’ve got all the information you’ll need, allowing you to find and collect plenty of Fir wood to develop your own home realm as much as you wish.

Where to find Fir Wood in Genshin Impact

Fir wood may be gathered from Fir trees in Genshin Impact, so you’ll need to locate some Fir Trees.

Mountainous areas of Mondstadt such as the Stormbearer Mountains or Starsnatch Cliff are littered with Fir trees, making them excellent areas to gather plenty of Fir Wood in a single trip.

I’d suggest using that first area suggestion, as this is the view of the Stormbearer Mountains right next to the teleport point. All but maybe two of those trees are Fir trees, making gathering Fir wood here exceptionally easy.

How to gather Fir Wood

Gathering Fir wood from the trees is about as simple as you’d expect it to be – hit the trees.

It should be noted that you’ll want to use swords or greatswords for this. Polearms auto attacks are at best ill-suited for this due to the nature of their attacks, and bows or catalysts don’t really register hits on the trees, meaning they produce no wood.

Ideally, you’d want to use a greatsword as shown below, because the wide swings will make it impossible to miss a tree if you’re only partially paying attention to your gathering, and you won’t need to expend any stamina using a charged attack for multiple hits due to their natural attack patterns being well suited for this.

With that said, there’s really not much else to gathering Fir Wood in Genshin Impact. Find the tree, hit the tree, let the wood drop into your inventory, and bam. You’re done. Once you get enough of it, anyway.
