Cyno is the new 5-star Electro character in Genshin Impact, featured in the current Limited Banner. As General Mahamatra, he’s responsible for delivering justice to those who commit transgressions against the Akademiya’s laws, being them plagiarism or conspiracies against the norm. But the Cyno Special Dish takes inspiration from a different side of him.

While maintaining his serious attitude and righteous ideals on the outside, he’s also a huge nerd who loves to play Genius Invokation, the popular Card Game in Teyvat which will soon be available for playing. He also has a “peculiar” sense of humor. Peculiar might actually be an understatement, but you get the message.

Cyno can be used to create his exclusive recipe Duel Soul, which is an upgraded version of the regular dish Tahchin. Cyno Special Dish will always be stronger than the regular version of Tahchin, even if it was created with Delicious quality.

Special Dishes can be randomly obtained when cooking the regular version of the recipe with the corresponding character, and they are usually named and themed around their owner. For Cyno, it shows his passion for the TCG game and some pretty obvious anime references in it, typical from Hoyoverse.

  • Restores 34% of Max HP to the selected character and regenerates 980 HP every 5s for 30s.

Cyno’s specialty. The golden grains of rice have been piled up like a most remarkable hill. As you scoop out a chunk and place the fragrant meat into your mouth, an impulse you cannot name rises within your chest — a desire to whip out your Genius Invokation deck and duel!

The perfect name for a card game lover dish, complete with a design that directly references the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. Aside from the name bringing back some memories from the show, the dish also has a striking resemblance to the Millennium Puzzle from it.

One could argue that it’s just a coincidence since both the food and the Puzzle are obviously designed after pyramids, but considering how Hoyoverse is known for frequently sneaking anime references into the game, it’s hard to think it wasn’t intentional.

The dish is a simple HP restoring food, which can be randomly obtained when Cyno cooks Tahchin. You can get the recipe for Tahchin by getting to Reputation Level 4 in Sumeru.

  • Restores 26–30% of Max HP to the selected character.
  • Regenerates 450–790 HP every 5s for the next 30s.

A classic rice dish served in large quantities. With the first bite, the crispy outside cracks with delightful crunching sounds. The second bite combines the soft and moist rice with juicy meat in your mouth. Then, the third bite brings in the Padisarah’s fragrance… The last bite, however, leaves your heart empty. What a pity it is, that you are too full to continue this wondrous experience. Well then, why not have another serving tomorrow?

Both can be cooked with 2x Fowl, 2x Fish, 4x Rice, and 1x Padisarah. They are stronger alternatives to other HP-restoring dishes, such as the Sweet Madame. Cyno Special Dish will always be better than a Delicious Tahchin.

There are currently no achievements for creating Special Dishes, but they are a nice little touch to have in the game. They tell us more about the character and are better to use in battle than regular dishes. Why not collect some of them?

Genshin Impact is currently available for PS4, PS5, Android, iOS, and PC. A Nintendo Switch port is stated to be in development with no release date revealed.
