Genshin Impact Collei Build Guide: Weapons, Artifact Sets, Roles, Talents, Constellations, and more

Genshin Impact - Collei Build Guid and Team Recommendations

Collei is a playable 4-star Dendro character in Genshin Impact. Initially a victim of Fatui human experimentation conducted by Dottore, Collei wandered Teyvat as a vagrant until she met Amber in Mondstadt.

Amber helped Collei get back on her feet; they have been very good friends. When Collei returned to Sumeru, they sent letters to each other and talked about what was happening in their lives. At one point, Amber mentioned the Traveler in their letters, allowing Collei to recognize the Traveler and Paimon when she first met them.

This guide will discuss Collei‘s talents, constellations, recommended roles, best weapons, artifact sets, and more! So, if you want to add this character to your team, read on.

Collei’s Talents and Priority

While Amber has Baron Bunny, which explodes and deals Pyro DMG, Collei has Cuilein-Anbar, which also explodes and deals Dendro DMG. However, the good thing about Cuilein-Anbar is that it creates a zone that continuously applies Dendro to enemies, allowing a lot of Dendro Elemental Reactions to take place.

This makes Collei a great Dendro applicator even when she’s not on the battlefield. Therefore, summoning Cuilein-Anbar through her Elemental Burst is an integral part of her gameplay.

Moreover, her Elemental Skill allows her to throw a boomerang, which means that she can apply Dendro when she throws it out and apply Dendro again when it comes back. With Collei‘s 1st Ascension Passive, this Elemental Skill can even deal damage over time, provided a party member triggers any Dendro Elemental Reactions before the boomerang returns.

With this, we recommend maxing her Talents in the following order:

  • 1st Priority – Elemental Burst
  • 2nd Priority – Elemental Skill
  • 3rd Priority – Normal Attack

For more details about her Talents, be sure to check out the table below:

Normal Attack – Supplicant’s BowmanshipNormal Attack
Perform up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Charged Attack
Performs a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.
While aiming, Dendro energy will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged arrow will deal Dendro DMG.

Plunging Attack
Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill – Floral BrushThrows out a Floral Ring that deals 1 instance of Dendro DMG to targets it comes into contact with.

The Floral Ring will return after a set time, dealing Dendro DMG once again.
Elemental Burst – Trump-Card KittyTrusty Cuilein-Anbar comes to save the day!

Throws the doll named Cuilein-Anbar, causing an explosion that deals AoE Dendro DMG, creating a Cuilein-Anbar Zone. Cuilein-Anbar will bounce around within this zone, dealing AoE Dendro DMG.
1st Ascension Passive – Floral SidewinderIf one of your party members has triggered Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions before the Floral Ring returns, it will grant the character the Sprout effect upon return, which will continuously deal Dendro DMG equivalent to 40% of Collei‘s ATK to nearby opponents for 3s.

If another Sprout effect is triggered during its initial duration, the initial effect will be removed. DMG dealt by Sprout is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
4th Ascension Passive – The Languid WoodWhen a character within the Cuilein-Anbar Zone triggers Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions, the Zone’s duration will be increased by 1s.

A single Trump-Card Kitty can be extended by up to 3s.
Utility Passive – Gliding Champion of SumeruDecreases gliding Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Constellations and Effects

Most of Collei‘s Constellations focus on dealing more DMG. However, C4 is noteworthy as it unlocks her supportive capabilities. This Constellation increases the Elemental Mastery of party members (excluding Collei) by 60.

If you’re new to the game, Constellations are acquired when you get another character copy.

LEVELNAMEEFFECT
1Deepwood PatrolWhen in the party and not on the field, Collei‘s Energy Recharge is increased by 20%.
2Through Hill and CopseThe Passive Talent Floral Sidewinder is changed to this:

The Floral Ring will grant the character the Sprout effect from Floral Sidewinder upon return, dealing 40% of Collei‘s ATK as Dendro DMG to nearby opponents for 3s.

From the moment of using Floral Brush to the moment when this instance of Sprout effect ends, if any of your party members triggers Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions, the Sprout effect will be extended by 3s.

The Sprout effect can only be extended this way once. If another Sprout effect is triggered during its initial duration, the initial effect will be removed.

6Forest of Falling ArrowsWhen the Floral Ring hits, it will create a miniature Cuilein-Anbar that will deal 200% of Collei‘s ATK as Dendro DMG.

Each Floral Brush can only create one such miniature Cuilein-Anbar.

Recommended Roles and Teams for Collei

Since Collei‘s skills allow her to deal damage and apply Dendro without necessarily staying on the field, she works well as an off-field Sub-DPS. You can also use her as a Support (C4).

Moreover, her switching out of the battlefield utilizes the increase of her Energy Recharge—that is, if you have her first Constellation (C1). This makes it easier for her to use her Elemental Burst in each rotation to deal damage, trigger more reactions, and, if you have C4, increase other members’ Elemental Mastery (EM) as well.

If you want to unlock the Dendro Elemental Resonance, you might consider having Tighnari as your Main DPS. For our Tighnari team recommendations with Collei, check out our Tighnari Build Guide and Team Recommendations here.

However, you might also consider a Main DPS who reacts well with Dendro. Since Cryo, Anemo, and Geo do not trigger reactions with Dendro, we do not recommend them as your Main DPS. Having a Main DPS with those elements, you will not be able to utilize Collei‘s Dendro application and EM boost.

Apart from Tighnari, Main DPS characters such as Yoimiya (can trigger Burning) and Ayato (can trigger Bloom) are highly recommended.

As for your healer, it would also help if they work well with Dendro, such as Bennett (can trigger Burning) or Kokomi (can trigger Bloom).

Lastly, for your Support, you can choose any as long as they synchronize with the Main DPS. For example, although Yun Jin is a Geo character and won’t trigger reactions with Dendro, her main purpose is to boost the normal attacks of your Main DPS. Since Yoimiya and Ayato primarily deal damage using their normal attacks, Yun Jin is great support for them. She will just leave the Dendro reactions to the rest of the team.

Recommended Weapons for Collei

If you have the 5-star weapon Elegy for the End, go for it. This bow increases Energy Recharge, which is vital for spamming Collei‘s Burst. It also increases Elemental Mastery which is vital for dealing more damage via Elemental Reactions. Another great thing about this bow is that it allows Collei to gain sigils that eventually increase everyone’s EM when she deals damage (even when not on the field).

However, if you don’t have Elegy for the End, our free-to-play options are The Stringless and Favonius Warbow.

If you have no problem with Collei‘s Energy Recharge, focus on her damage potential with The Stringless. However, if you need more Energy Recharge, go for Favonius Warbow.

WEAPONDETAILS
Elegy for the EndBase ATK (Lv 1 -90): 46 – 608
Base Bonus Stat (Lv 1 -90): Energy Recharge 12% – 55.1%

When the Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts of the character wielding this weapon hit opponents, that character gains a Sigil of Remembrance. This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field.

When you possess 4 Sigils of Remembrance, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” effect for 12s.

“Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” increases Elemental Mastery by 100 and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Remembrance for 20s.

Of the many effects of the “Millennial Movement,” buffs of the same type will not stack.
The StringlessBase ATK (Lv 1 -90): 42 – 510

Recommended Artifact Sets and Stat Priority for Collei

Below are Collei‘s recommended artifact sets:

ARTIFACT SETEFFECTS
Deepwood Memories x4– 15% Dendro DMG Bonus
– After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
Gilded Dreams x4– EM increased by 80
– Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and EM is increased by 50 for every member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s and even when not on the field.
Emblem of Severed Fate x4
– Energy Recharge +20%
– Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

If you have a Dendro Main DPS such as Tighanri, Collei can help him deal more damage by decreasing the enemy’s Dendro RES with Deepwood Memories x4. This way Collei and Tighnari will benefit from the artifact set’s effects.

However, if you want to have more Elemental Mastery based on the number of members with a different Elemental Type, Gilded Dreams x4 will do wonders for Collei.

These artifacts can only be farmed from a new domain in Sumeru named Spire of Solitary Enlightenment, so you probably still don’t have many decent artifacts for these recommended sets. With this in mind, you might consider combining these artifacts with Emblem of Severed Fate or simply have a full Emblem of Severed Fate set.

As for her artifact stat priority, we recommend the following:

  • Sands – Energy Recharge (only if you have a problem with ER) or ATK%
  • Goblet – Dendro DMG Bonus
  • Circlet – CRIT Damage or CRIT Rate

That’s everything you need to know about building Collei! We hope that our recommendations will help you along the way.
