Yae Miko may see some changes coming for her during the next update for Genshin Impact. One of the most hyped characters releases to date, Yae is a great character, but all of the rumors surrounding her, such as being a DPS equivalent to Ganyu, ended up being nothing more than vain hopes.

Yae is actually a sub-DPS with an incredibly powerful Burst, but with some clunkiness that made some people call her simply a bad character. Hoyoverse seems to have listened to the negative feedback, and it seems that they’ll ship some small QoL updates for the foxy girl.

Changes to Yae Miko in 2.6 beta

Leaker Ubatcha has shared a video showcasing some small changes made to Yae’s E targeting. Instead of targeting random enemies or objects around them, the totems will not prioritize hitting the closest enemies.

While this may not be the buff many players expected, it will surely be a great help, especially in open-world scenarios, where it was not uncommon for Yae’s totems to hit random targets such as torches and bonfires around the enemies, since they had a completely random targeting system.

What’s the problem with Yae?

After her release, many players were disappointed with the character. She’s not bad and has a pretty strong Electro application. Her Burst also has one of the highest scales of the game, but she has some problems that may annoy some players, like her strange Elemental Mastery scaling.

A normal rotation requires her to place 6 totems since she’ll destroy them after her Burst. This same burst also requires 90 energy, a huge amount only shared with Raiden Shogun. The difference is that Raiden can easily replenish her own energy, while Yae struggles with it by herself.

With these small changes, Yae Miko might be a little bit less clunky. But we shouldn’t expect much more, as Hoyoverse has not given a direct buff for any character since the game’s release, with the sole exception of Zhongli, which was accompanied by the Geo resonance rework.
