And we can´t talk about Inazuma without talking about the Electro Archon Baal, the ruler of Inazuma, also known as the Raiden or the Immortal Shogun.

Meet the Raiden Shogun

Differently from Zhongli, Baal is not one of the original seven, who, after the brutal Archon War, emerged victorious and divided the lands and their domains, and for that, is unknown how she came to receive the title. Nonetheless, she is the ruler of the land of Inazuma and its Bakufu.

According to leaks and her appearances in the game’s lore, the Electro Archon is obsessed with the concept of ”Eternity”.

According to leaks, Baal will be a polearm user in the game, even if lore-wise her weapon looks to be a sword. You can check out Baal’s leaked visual below, courtesy of @lumie_lumie, on Twitter.

The Vision Hunt Decree

Something close to a year before the events of the game, Baal stopped gifting Electro Visions and started to consider them as blessings of the divine, unfit for the use of mortals. for that, she also released the Vision hunt Decree, a decree that stipulated the confiscation of all visions in her domains.

Divine Punishment

It is revealed in Kazuha’s leaker history teaser, that the Shogun makes use of a legendary sword art, which can only be experienced by those brave enough to face her themselves, as a form of Divine Retribution.

You can check out Kazuha’s leaked trailer below, as well as a render of the upcoming character Sara, featured next to Baal in the teaser.

Similarities to Raiden Mei

One thing fans of both Genshin Impact and mihoHo’s flagship Honkai Impact 3rd immediately realized when the first details of the character were revealed, was the similarities between the Raiden Shogun and Honkai’s Herrscher of Thunder, Raiden Mei. The latter which is constantly used as clickbait regarding the shogun’s in-game visual by multiple outlets.

As we wait for Inazuma to be released, Genshin Impact’s version 1.6 is already here, featuring a Klee rerun banner, a new version exclusive archipelago region, the debut of skins in the game, new quests, events, and more. Kazuha, the game’s new 5-star Kazuha, as well as the game’s upcoming archon quest, will be released at a later date, together with his weapon featured banner.
