Genshin Impact 3.2: Layla Character Demo is out!

A week before her release, HoYoverse revealed the Layla Character Demo, featuring the “half-awake, half-asleep, all incredulous” Rtawahist student of Sumeru Akademiya.
The upcoming Genshin Impact character first appeared in-game during the current Fabulous Fungus Frenzy Event. If you haven’t participated in the event yet, you might want to check her character demo to get to know her.
Here’s what the Layla Character Demo is about!
Layla Character Demo shows a relatable student life
Before Layla’s design was even revealed, known Genshin Impact leaker Ubatcha said she’s quite a relatable character. This is shown in the Layla Character Demo as she asks the million-dollar question every student might have asked themselves at one point in their lives.
“Why do I have to write so many papers? Why?” Layla asks herself in the video. Of course, this line was given full justice by the upcoming playable character’s English voice actor Ashely Biski in a tired, sleepy, almost sobbing voice.
Moreover, just like in previous character demos, Layla can be seen fighting some enemies. Here, she can be seen swinging her sword, using her Elemental Skill that provides an HP-scaling shield, and unleashing a Celestial Dreamsphere through her Elemental Burst.
After getting protected by the shield from her Elemental Skill, Layla can be seen taking a nap. Yup, unless you’ve already seen this animation through previous leaks, we’re saying she’s taking a nap in the middle of a battle! Well, she isn’t called “half-awake, half-asleep” for nothing.

The last part of the Layla Character Demo shows the Traveler approaching Layla, and she asks them why they’re up. The video doesn’t let us hear the Traveler’s answer, but as for Layla, she says she’s “sleepwalking, of course.”

Layla is scheduled to arrive in the second phase of Genshin Impact Version 3.2, which takes place on November 18, 2022.
Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed by miHoyo, also known as HoYoverse. The game is available for PC, PS4, PS5, iOS, and Android, while a release on Nintendo Switch is currently in the works.
