Genshin Impact 3.1: Nilou Special Dish

nilou special dish featured

Nilou is the newest addition to Genshin Impact’s roster of 5-star limited characters. The dancer from the Zubayn Theater has a very important role in the first couple of quests in the Sumeru Archon Quests, and she’s now available as a playable character. This means we now have access to the exclusive Nilou Special Dish.

This talented, sweetheart girl is not only gifted in dance but also in cooking since the characters can canonically cook their specialties, as Fischl has confirmed in the last event. The Nilou Special Dish is able to capture her gracious dancing movements, also having a very fitting name for her.

Her specialty is called Swirling Steps. It can be cooked only by Nilou and can be randomly received when she prepares Padisarah Pudding. This special version of the original Pudding will always be stronger than its counterpart, even if the said dish has a Delicious quality.

And this time, Hoyoverse emphasized her relation to the dish even further since Padisarahs are also Nilou’s ascension material. So if you’ve got her, chances are that you have many of these flowers in your inventory. Just remember not to spend them all in the kitchen and get some of them so your girl can grow stronger.

  • Decreases all party members’ climbing and sprinting Stamina consumption by 25% for 1500s. In Co-Op Mode, this effect only applies to your own character(s).

Nilou’s specialty. The crystal-clear cup that reminds you of an ornate jewel case contains a soft, melt-in-your-mouth pudding. The reddish coloration, like a fleeting trance, reminds you ever so much of Nilou’s radiant, dancing form. Ah, would that this dance might last forever.

Fitting for this ordinary girl, Swirling Steps is a simple food that helps you when exploring and can be stacked with other characters’ stamina-related passives. Not the best of dishes, but a good one overall.

Swirling Steps can be obtained randomly when preparing Padisarah Pudding with Nilou. You can buy the recipe for Padisarah Pudding with Enteka for 5000 Mora. She’s located in the Puspa Café in Sumeru, the one with the Teapot icon near Katheryne.

  • Decreases all party members’ climbing and sprinting Stamina consumption by 15% ~ 25% for 900s. In Co-Op Mode, this effect only applies to your own character(s).

A popular dessert in Sumeru. The moment it enters your mouth, the springy mouthfeel makes you feel like you’re wandering atop milk-flavored clouds. As you savor its flavors, the blended fragrance of Padisarah and Sumeru Rose fills the air. When you finally do reach that very last bite, it feels like something has been left unfinished. You cannot help but lick the back of your spoon, as if to savor the final sublime moments of enjoyment.

Both dishes can be prepared by using 2x Padisarahs, 1x Sumeru Rose, 1x Milk, and 1x Sugar. Just be careful with that first ingredient since, as we said before, it’s also an ascension material, and those are very scarce, especially in Sumeru.

There are currently no achievements for creating Special Dishes, but they are a nice little touch to have in the game. They tell us more about the character and are better to use in battle than regular dishes. Why not collect some of them?

Genshin Impact is currently available for PS4, PS5, Android, iOS, and PC. A Nintendo Switch port is stated to be in development with no release date revealed.
