Genshin Impact 2.3: Leaks reveal new weapons, systems, and more

Genshin Impact 2.1 Kokami In-Game

A storm of leaks regarding the Genshin Impact 2.3 update has appeared today, including new information about events, new World Bosses, new weapons, enemies, characters, systems and much more.

Here, we’ll discuss some of the new content we’ll be enjoying in the final patch of 2021. First, let’s talk about the new events!

New events in Genshin Impact update 2.3

Firstly, we have an event described by the data miner BLANK simply as “Hachi”. From the images, it seems to be a “hide-and-seek” minigame, much like the ones we find in some parts of the Archon Quests (like stealing the lyre from the Church in Mondstadt).

The dog we see in the event will be obtainable as a reward. We may not be able to pet the dogs, but at least we can have them as pets!

Genshin Intel also tweeted about some new events in Dragonspine. The Dust and Shadowed Snow events in Genshin Impact 2.3 will be the closest thing we ever got from a Christmas event.

From what we’ve seen, this will be another recreational event, full of minigames made to incite interaction between players.

New bosses and enemies

MiHoYo’s current approach to new characters is to always introduce new bosses alongside them. And with Arataki Itto’s release, it couldn’t be any different.

The oni will use the drops from this new boss in order to ascend, but we’re not sure of its official name yet.

While BLANK seems to use “Planelurker” to refer to it, Honey Impact says that Itto ascension drop can be obtained from “Golden Wolflords”.

This second name, which may be his official one, can be seen again in another image of the new boss, provided by Anonsbelle.

The boss’ official name should be revealed soon, so there’s no need to rush. It seems to be a boss version of the Rifthounds, so future Itto mains should be ready to face it soon.

New weapons in Genshin 2.3

We had two weapons revealed by Ubatcha. One will be the new claymore featured in Arataki Itto’s event banner, while the other will be given through one of the version events, and it’s a sword made for Albedo, similar to how Dodoco Tales was made for Klee.

Since both Albedo and Itto scale with Def, those weapons are best suited for them. Both are also a perfect fit for their intended character’s kit. Maybe it’s time for Albedo users to put the Harbinger of Dawn sword down.

Itto will arrive during Genshin 2.3, and along with him and all of the new events, we’ll receive a new story quest for him.

Beidou and Gorou will also receive a new Hangout Event, just like Thoma and Sayu in the current update.

We’ll also receive new furniture that will allow players to recreate some of Genshin’s puzzles inside their own Teapots, similar to how we can play the Temari game in the overworld after completing all of the kid’s challenges.

And lastly, Genshin Impact meets Pokémon with the Omni-Ubiquity Net. Using this new gadget, we’ll be able to catch small creatures to add to our Teapot. Sadly, there’s no mention of any battle system between them.

We also received information on two new artifact sets and, of course, the full set of the new characters, Arataki Itto and Gorou, but we’ll talk about these in separate articles.

Genshin Impact is currently on its 2.2 version, “Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog”, which introduces a whole new area to explore, as well as new enemies, weapons, events and the return of previously limited characters and gadgets.

You can play the game for free on mobile devices including Android, iOS, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Pc on both miHoYo’s official launcher and Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
