Genshin Impact 2.1 leaks: New footage of the upcoming islands
We’re less than a week away from the next big update in Genshin Impact, “Floating World Under the Moonlight”, and new footage featuring the upcoming islands is starting to surface. These will be the next areas we’ll be able to explore in Inazuma.
The footage shows the new areas, Seirai Island and Watatsumi Island. Revealed back in the 1.6 Special Program, they will be the resting place of the new bosses Thunder Manifestation and Hydro Hypostasis, which we’ll need to defeat in order to ascend the new characters.
These places will also host the next parts of the Archon Quests, as Kokomi personally asked for us to go to the Sangonomiya Shrine, located in Watatsumi. This should be the first place we’ll visit.

The videos were made public by the Kokomi Impact Twitter account, which recently also released some spoilers for the main quests. Since we don’t have any confirmation for that, this footage should also be taken with a grain of salt.
First, we have some exploration around the Watatsumi Island:

We can recognize some of the places shown in the previous trailers, which gives some reliability to the leaks. The place which is probably the Sangonomiya Shrine can be seen right at the beginning of the video.
The island will be very colorful compared to the previous ones, giving a happier vibe. It will also look a lot better in the final game since this footage is of quite low quality.
Next, we also have some footage of the abandoned Seirai Island. This island is a lot less lively than Watatsumi.
Looking a lot more like the Kannazuka and Yashiori Islands, this island is just the opposite of the previous, having been evacuated many years before the game’s events. Maybe there’s some good treasure left behind, so Paimon should be excited to explore it.
We should expect tough enemies to match its vibe, and maybe fewer World Quests than in the previous islands. This will be the lair of the dreadful Thunder Manifestation, AKA Electro Oceanid.

The new islands shown in the footage should give some new energy to the game. They will bring us more of the Sigils and Electroculus needed to upgrade the Statues and the Sakura Tree, so expect to be running around them a lot during the next weeks.
Genshin Impact is currently at the end of the 2.0 version, “The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia”, which brought us the long-awaited Inazuma region. And along with it, many new characters, enemies, puzzles and areas to explore.
You can play the game for free right now on mobile devices (Android and iOS), PCs through both the miHoYo launcher or the Epic Games Store launcher, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
