Genshin Impact 3.1 leaks: Cyno skills and talents descriptions

sumeru banner leaks cyno

Being the first 5-star male Electro character to be released in Genshin Impact, it’s time for us to see all of Cyno skills and talents descriptions. He’s coming in the 3.1 version, the first expansion to Sumeru, and it’s the first character from the Dendro region we met in other media, having served as its face for some time.

These descriptions are all available in the Honey Impact database. He’s the featured character in one of the 3.1 banners, but we still don’t know if he’s the first or the second banner. Other 4-star characters to be present in the banner are also unknown, and should be revealed around 2 weeks before the actual patch release.

His animations are also here, and you can see this Anubis-inspired character going full feral mode on his enemies here. Previous descriptions of his skills given by leakers seem to be right on the point, and we’ll now give more detail on how this new character works.

Cyno is a 5-star Electro Polearm character, and as said by leakers, he resembles a 5-star Razor with full Elemental Damage. His ascension stat is Critical Damage, the best stat a main DPS could wish for. His kit revolves all around his Burst, which changes his whole gameplay while active.

In his normal state, this is a simple elemental slash. But as you can see in his animation video, this skill changes when Cyno activates his Burst, becoming a rapid plunge attack that deals some AoE damage. Very similar to Razor’s charged skill, but faster and with an extra effect to extend his Burst.

Think of Razor’s Burst and make it better. This is how Cyno works, but he still cannot switch without losing his Burst. All of his scalings are based on its level, and this state can be extended by using his Skill, which will have a lower cooldown while in this state. He also gets some Elemental Mastery, giving space for some reactions.

Passive talents

Cyno skills and talents have a huge synergy. His first talent gives some extra proprieties to his Skill while he has Burst active, giving him even more damage and elemental application. The second, on the other hand, gives you some extra bonus by simply having extra Elemental Mastery on him. Always useful as plenty of EM-boosting options exist nowadays.

Constellations

As expected, his second Constellation is incredibly strong. Cyno skills and talents are naturally good, so go for extra copies only if you really want them. He’ll probably be strong enough with or without them, so they’re all on you.

C1 and C2 are the most affordable for most players – being something even Free-to-play players can potentially aim for after a featured banner or two – and are some immediate boosts to the new wolfy boy. The playerbase can never get enough of free Critical stats after all.

Final considerations

A new greedy DPS, Cyno contrasts with Nilou which will be featured in the same patch. He requires a lot of field time to work properly, but will doubtlessly show results. All of Cyno skills and talents revolve around him dealing more and more damage, and the Elemental Mastery scaling gives him good synergy with reactions.

Building EM might not be the best option as he’ll still require the usual offensive stats, but having some in your Artifacts substats will not be so bad in the end. He’ll possibly be one of the strongest characters in terms of pure damage from Sumeru, so keep your eyes on him.
