It seems we’ll be getting more of those Oculus collectables in Genshin Impact with Sumeru, as Dendroculus leaks have revealed.

The first of the Dendroculus leaks has now been posted by @genshinBLANK via Twitter, which has confirmed that Oculus will be present in the Sumeru region, as they were with previous regions.

Great news for players who enjoy collectables. Not so great news for those players who just end up using a tool such as the Genshin Impact interactive map to find them all.

While it’s not yet clear on the full scale of Sumeru, various rumours point to it being larger than Liyue in total size. That would potentially mean having the largest amount of oculus collectables in total, making these Dendroculus leaks and the news confirming them fairly unwelcome for those players who struggle to gather everything.

On the up side, it is unlikely to be mandatory to collect them all. Stamina upgrades are not likely to appear again after the first two regions if Inazuma giving the Traveller constellations for Oculus collectables is any indication. Having to collect the largest amount yet for a small Stamina upgrade would likely not be well received in any case, so it does seem unlikely they’ll revert to the previous reward system for these items.

The Genshin community at large, and even BLANK themself, seems to already be referring to these new Oculi as cabbages.

Given their appearance, that’s a nickname I could see sticking for the long term when discussing these particular Oculi. For the moment though, we’ll just have to wait and see if the community can come up with anything else even more comedic for them, or if Dendroculus are doomed to be known as cabbages forever more among the playerbase.
