Genshin Impact Dehya Build Guide: Weapons, Artifact Sets, Roles, Teams, Constellations, and more

Genshin Impact - Dehya Build Guide

Dehya is a playable 5-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact. Also known as the “Flame-Mane,” she is a highly regarded mercenary.

The word “mercenary” has a negative connotation, and Dehya doesn’t hide the fact that she works for good pay and reasonable commission. However, this doesn’t mean she is devoid of morals.

In fact, this Pyro character showed utmost care for her employer, Dunyarzad, while helping the Traveler without asking for compensation during the Sumeru Archon questline. She played a significant role along characters like Cyno and Alhaitham.

This guide will discuss Dehya’s talents, constellations, recommended roles, best weapons, artifact sets, and more! So, if you want to add this character to your team, feel free to read on.

Dehya’s Talents and Priority

Since she can’t infuse her Normal Attacks with Pyro, Dehya’s conventional and primary sources of damage are her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, which both scale with her ATK and HP stats.

Dehya’s Elemental Skill (Molten Inferno) creates a field called Fiery Sanctum. This field allows characters within it to trigger Pyro coordinated attacks whenever they damage opponents. While this off-field capability is often compared with the Geo character Albedo’s, the effects of Dehya’s Elemental Skill are entirely different.

This Fiery Sanctum increases the resistance of the active character within it to interruption, which is further improved with her 1st Ascension Passive. However, what makes this Elemental Skill unique is that it gives Dehya the ability to tank incoming damage even while off-field. To put it simply, if your active character within the Fiery Sanctum takes damage, Dehya will take a portion of that damage, ultimately increasing your survivability.

If you’re worried that Dehya will take too much damage, this redirection of damage will stop after reaching a certain percentage. Moreover, Dehya can self-heal with her 4th Ascension Passive.

When she uses her Elemental Burst, Dehya pauses the duration of the active Fiery Sanctum (if any) and enters a state where she can hit enemies with a barrage of Pyro attacks. The Fiery Sanctum will then resume after this state. However, it is important to note that the barrage of attacks during Dehya’s Elemental Burst is considered Elemental Burst damage, not Normal Attack or Elemental Skill damage.

With what has been said, we highly recommend that you prioritize ascending Dehya’s Talents in the following order:

  • 1st priority – Elemental Skill
  • 2nd priority – Elemental Burst
  • 3rd priority – Normal Attack

You can even completely leave out her Normal Attacks unless you plan on using Dehya as an on-field unit.

Normal Attack – Sandstorm AssaultNormal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes using her Claymore and her martial arts.

Charged Attack
Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous slashes.
At the end of the sequence, performs a more powerful slash.
Elemental Skill – Molten InfernoThis art of Dehya’s own invention changes its method of use depending on the combat situation.

Indomitable Flame
– This skill will be unleashed should there be no Fiery Sanctum field created by Dehya herself present at the time.
– Deals AoE Pyro DMG, and creates a field known as Fiery Sanctum.

Ranging Flame
– This skill will be unleashed should a Fiery Sanctum field created by Dehya herself already exist.
Dehya will perform a leaping attack, dealing AoE Pyro DMG before recreating a Fiery Sanctum field at her new position.
– A Fiery Sanctum field created this way will inherit the remaining duration of the previous field.
Ranging Flame can be used only once throughout a single Fiery Sanctum field’s duration.

Fiery Sanctum
– When an opponent within a Fiery Sanctum field takes DMG, the field will unleash a coordinated attack, dealing AoE Pyro DMG to them based on Dehya’s ATK and Max HP. This effect can be triggered once every 2.5s.
– Active characters within this field have their resistance to interruption increased, and when such characters take DMG, a portion of that damage will be mitigated and flow into Redmane’s Blood. Dehya will then take this DMG over 10s. When the mitigated DMG stored by Redmane’s Blood reaches or goes over a certain percentage of Dehya’s Max HP, she will stop mitigating DMG in this way.

Only 1 Fiery Sanctum created by Dehya herself can exist at the same time.
Elemental Burst – Leonine BiteUnleashing her burning anger and casting her inconvenient blade aside, Dehya enters the Blazing Lioness state and increases her resistance to interruption.

In this state, Dehya will automatically and continuously unleash the Flame-Mane’s Fists, dealing Pyro DMG based on her ATK and Max HP, and when its duration ends, she will unleash an Incineration Drive, dealing AoE Pyro DMG based on her ATK and Max HP.

If a Fiery Sanctum field created by Dehya’s own Elemental Skill “Molten Inferno” exists when this ability is unleashed, Dehya will retrieve it, and then create another field once Blazing Lioness’s duration expires. This field will take on the retrieved field’s duration at the moment of its retrieval.

In this state, Dehya will be unable to cast her Elemental Skill, or perform Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks. “Normal Attack: Sandstorm Assault” and Elemental Skill “Molten Inferno” will be replaced by “Roaring Barrage.”

Roaring Barrage
– Unleashing Roaring Barrage within 0.4s after each Flame-Mane’s Fist strike will increase the speed at which the next Flame-Mane’s Fist strike will be triggered.
1st Ascension Passive – Unstinting SuccorWithin 6 seconds after Dehya retrieves the Fiery Sanctum field through Molten Inferno: Ranging Flame or Leonine Bite, she will take 60% less DMG when receiving DMG from Redmane’s Blood. This effect can be triggered once every 2s.

Additionally, within 9s after Dehya unleashes Molten Inferno: Indomitable Flame, she will grant all party members the Gold-Forged Form state. This state will further increase a character’s resistance to interruption when they are within the Fiery Sanctum field. Gold-Forged Form can be activated once every 18s.
4th Ascension PassiveWhen her HP is less than 40%, Dehya will recover 20% of her Max HP and will restore 6% of her Max HP every 2s for the next 10s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s.
Utility PassiveIncreases the Movement SPD of your own party members by 10% during the day (6:00 – 18:00).

Does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or Spiral Abyss. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Constellations and Effects

If you plan on getting some constellations for Dehya without spending too much of your resources, C1 and C4 are notable constellations.

With C1, Dehya’s HP is increased, and her HP-based damage output is more utilized, significantly boosting her overall damage. Of course, more HP doesn’t only mean more damage; this also means that Dehya can tank more incoming attacks on-field or off-field.

On the other hand, C4 is a huge improvement if you want to use Dehya’s Burst more often. This constellation will help with Dehya’s energy regeneration problems and improve her self-healing. This makes her more self-sufficient instead of being reliant on other units.

LEVELNAMEEFFECT
1The Flame IncandescentDehya’s Max HP is increased by 20%, and she deals bonus DMG based on her Max HP when using the following attacks:
– Molten Inferno’s DMG will be increased by 3.6% of her Max HP.
– Leonine Bite’s DMG will be increased by 6% of her Max HP.
2The Sand-Blades GlitteringWhen Dehya uses Molten Inferno: Ranging Flame, the duration of the recreated Fiery Sanctum field will be increased by 4s.

Additionally, when a Fiery Sanctum exists on the field, DMG dealt by its next coordinated attack will be increased by 50% when active character(s) within the Fiery Sanctum field are attacked.
3A Rage Swift as FireIncreases the Level of Leonine Bite by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
4An Oath AbidingWhen Flame-Mane’s Fist and Incineration Drive attacks unleashed during Leonine Bite hit opponents, they will restore 1.5 Energy for Dehya and 2.5% of her Max HP. This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s.
5The Alpha UnleashedIncreases the Level of Molten Inferno by 3.

This effect can be triggered every 0.2s. The duration can be extended for a maximum of 2s and CRIT DMG can be increased by a maximum of 60% this way.

Recommended Roles and Teams

With her off-field Pyro damage/application and tanking capabilities, Dehya works well as the party’s Sub-DPS or Support. However, if you love Dehya and want to make her your Main DPS, you can definitely do so. If this is the case, we highly recommend pairing her with C6 Bennett to infuse Dehya’s Normal Attacks with Pyro.

Main DPS Dehya – Mono Pyro Team

Main DPSSub-DPS/SupportSupportAnemo Support
– Dehya– Xiangling
– Thoma
– C4 Yanfei
– Bennett (ideally C6)– Kazuha
– Venti
– Sucrose

In this Mono Pyro Team, Dehya will take most of the field time while Xiangling deals off-field Pyro damage. While shielding isn’t exactly necessary, you may also opt for the Pyro shielders Thoma or C4 Yanfei.

As for the 4-star Pyro character Bennett, his role is to heal, boost your ATK, and ideally infuse Dehya’s Normal Attacks with Pyro (possible with C6 Bennett).

Of course, Kazuha will be equipping a 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set to decrease your opponents’ Pyro RES. If you don’t have Kazuha, you may opt for Venti or Sucrose.

Main DPS Dehya – Vaporize Team

Main DPSSub-DPS/SupportSupportAnemo Support
– Dehya– Mona
– Kokomi
– Ayato
– Yelan
– Xingqiu
– Bennett (ideally C6)– Kazuha
– Venti
– Sucrose

This team is almost the same as the Mono Pyro team, with the exception of the Pyro Sub-DPS. Instead of a Pyro Sub-DPS, you can use an off-field Hydro applicator. Mona is a great option for this slot due to the huge damage buff from her Omen. However, you may also opt for other Hydro units as listed above.

Support/Sub-DPS Dehya – Vaporize Team

Main DPSSub-DPS/SupportSub-DPS/SupportSub-DPS/Support
– Hu Tao– Dehya– Xingqiu– Yelan

This team template takes inspiration from one of the most common team compositions for the 5-star Pyro character Hu Tao. However, this is minus the shielder and choosing Dehya over other Pyro characters to trigger the Pyro Elemental Resonance (ATK increase).

Both Dehya and Xingqiu will help protect Hu Tao. Dehya can do so with her Fiery Sanctum and Xingqiu with his Rain Swords. Both mechanics also increase the active character’s resistance to interruption, making Hu Tao deal more damage.

Another good thing about this is that all of the characters in this team can take advantage of the HP bonus from the Hydro Elemental Resonance that Yelan and Xingqiu trigger.

Support/Sub-DPS Dehya – Melt Team

Main DPSSub-DPS/SupportSub-DPS/SupportSupport
– Ganyu– Dehya– Nahida– Bennett

Pairing Dehya with Nahida will result in consistent Burning Reactions. This situation can easily be taken advantage of by a Cryo DPS like the 5-star Cryo character Ganyu. As Ganyu uses her Charged Attacks, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting interrupted inside Dehya’s Fiery Sanctum field. Of course, Bennett’s role is to heal and provide ATK buffs, including the one triggered by the Pyro Elemental Resonance.

Recommended Weapons

Dehya scales with the ATK and HP stats. Therefore, a weapon focusing on these two stats is an ideal choice for her. Of course, her signature weapon Beacon of the Reed Sea is easily her best-in-slot (BiS) weapon. But if you don’t have this claymore, you may use any of the ones below, depending on availability and your play style.

WEAPONSOURCEDETAILS

Base Skill Effect: CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

While Redhorn Stonethresher provides a DEF stat that Dehya doesn’t scale with, this claymore has a huge CRIT DMG bonus stat. This makes it a great stat stick for Dehya, especially in a more DPS role.

As for the new free weapon, Mailed Flower, it’s a great choice if you place Dehya in a team that relies heavily on Elemental Reactions, including the Melt and Vaporize Teams we mentioned in the previous section.

Recommended Artifact Sets and Stat Priority

Choosing an artifact set for Dehya depends on her role. Below are some of our recommended artifact sets:

ARTIFACT SETEFFECTS
Crimson Witch of Flames2-piece: Pyro DMG Bonus +15%
4-piece: Increases Overloaded and Burning, and Burgeon DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using Elemental Skill increases the 2-Piece Set Bonus by 50% of its starting value for 10s. Max 3 stacks.
Tenacity of the Millelith2-piece: HP +20%
4-piece: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.
Emblem of Severed Fate2-piece: Energy Recharge +20%
4-piece: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

Crimson Witch of Flames x4 is an option if you want to focus on maximizing Dehya’s Pyro damage. However, if you want to play Dehya more as an off-field support unit, Tenacity of the Millelith x4 is your go-to artifact set.

Another set to consider is the Emblem of Severed Fate x4, especially if you rely heavily On Dehya’s Burst to deal significant damage.

Of course, you may combine 2-piece sets depending on play style or which available artifact pieces have overall better sub-stats.

Speaking of stats, we recommend the following main stats for each piece:

ARTIFACT PIECEMAIN STAT
Flower – Flat HP (Fixed)
Plume – Flat ATK (Fixed)
Sands– ATK% (generic DPS choice)
– Elemental Mastery (for reaction teams)
– HP% (Sub-DPS/Support choice)
Goblet– Pyro Damage Bonus (generic DPS choice)
– HP% (Support choice)
Circlet– CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate depending on which stat you need (generic DPS choice)
– HP% (Support choice)

For artifact sub-stats, we recommend Energy Recharge, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, Elemental Mastery, ATK%, and HP%.
