Geovishaps typically are quite durable as far as world bosses go, so it’s typically advised to bring along either a good shield character or healer. Shield characters are doubly advised for this, as they also have a particular attack that is countered by shields – which is also used in the Misty Hills, Foggy Vales fight present in version 2.8, Summer Fantasia of Genshin Impact.

Using a shield counter to this attack from the Primo Geovishap will make the overall fight drastically easier. You’ll take much less damage, and as an added bonus towards the aim of defeat Primo Geovishap boss fights, it’ll even deal a solid chunk of damage to itself when attacks are negated in this way.

The easier character to employ for this is typically Zhongli, whose shield lasts around 20s if not destroyed by damage. It is a remarkably durable shield if your Zhongli has high max HP, making it the most likely to survive. Other shields will also work fine, even those generated through a crystallise reaction.

The only thing to bear in mind is that the shield must be up when the attack animation completes, not when it starts. If it times out during the animation, you might still be in trouble.

In this particular fight you also have an added tool to defeat Primo Geovishap bosses. Pressing T will perform a brief burst attack in these instances during Misty Hills, Foggy Vales – and it’ll deal plenty of damage to the boss for you.

It is recommended to use this move against the boss as often as it is available, as it will decrease the boss difficulty drastically.
