Genshin Impact: Cool it! achievement guide

Cool it! is a Genshin Impact achievement requiring you to continuously keep a single enemy frozen for over 10 seconds.

Frozen occurs when mixing Hydro and Cryo elements, and can be relatively easy to cause against most enemies. It is somewhat harder to sustain for over 10 seconds on a single opponent.

There is a particular area in Genshin Impact you can use to make the Cool it! achievement far easier to complete though, due to a ley line disorder effect that makes frozen effects more persistent.

How to get the Cool it! achievement in Genshin Impact

While you can aim for this achievement basically anywhere with enemies that are easy to freeze, you’ll either want to go somewhere such as the Cecilia Garden domain filled with Hydro Slimes that just need Cryo damage to freeze, or the location I’ll be recommending for the purpose of this guide; Spiral Abyss Floor 2 Chamber 2.

Most of the elemental specialist achievements are best done using domains. However, for the Cool it! achievement, Spiral Abyss 2-2 has Hydro enemies on a wet floor, with a unique frozen effect length modifier, making it uniquely easy to unlock here.

As Spiral Abyss 2-2 is fixed at a quite low level, it’s best to use a Cryo character who is not built for talents and has no damage-boosting artifacts or powerful weapons equipped. Otherwise you might end up killing the Hydro Slimes present before they can remain Frozen for 10 seconds each.

You’ll want to bring along a secondary character of your choice to serve as your damage dealer for the 1st chamber of Spiral Abyss Floor 2 – You could use your Cryo character for that as well, but it’ll be a fair amount faster and safer to split the DPS role away from your intended freezing character to avoid killing things you need to freeze in the second chamber of floor 2.

You can kill literally anything in the first chamber with whatever method you prefer. Upon reaching the second chamber of floor 2, swap to your cryo character. You can do this with Kaeya, as I did, or other Cryo characters – you just need to be able to hit with cryo damage regularly to keep opponents frozen and avoid killing them in the process.

If you also use Kaeya for this without any weapons or artifacts, you just need to use your burst and run between the first few slimes that spawn. Ideally, wait for them to group up to make it easier to keep them all frozen with your elemental skill during downtime on the elemental burst.

Using this method you can easily get at least a two or three progress on this Genshin Impact achievement per attempt. If you attempt to avoid killing the slimes and let them have a brief reset between prolonged Frozen periods, you may well be able to complete the entire achievement up to the third tier in a single session.
