How to check pity in Genshin Impact and track it

Wishes take a long time to earn while playing as a free-to-play player, so knowing how to check pity in Genshin Impact can be very useful.

After all, your pity determines when the game must be forced to give you a five-star character, such as Kazuha or Yae Miko. Wishing at the wrong time when you have a good chance at a forced pity character can mean wasting a huge opportunity you might have wanted in the next banner.

Using it at the right time is a crucial bit of information that allows you to make the most of the wish system, and potentially get the 5* characters you want, when you want them if properly managed. If you’re not using a tool like the one mentioned here, finding a way to check pity in Genshin Impact must be done manually, which can lead to errors.

How to check pity in Genshin Impact

Pity isn’t actually displayed in-game, making it impossible to actively check pity in Genshin Impact itself. There are other ways though. A service known as Paimon.moe is one such option for this.

You can import your wish history into Paimon.moe through clicking on the Auto-Import option provided on any page, or accessing the import page directly.

You’ll need to set things up on the import page before you can use this to check pity in Genshin Impact. First, you’ll need to select your region, platform and what method you want to use. Generally regardless of the import method used you’ll have a set of instructions to follow on the page.

The process involves opening Genshin Impact, heading to the wish screen and into the history section, then running either a command or program to gather the data from the page. Due to the nature of this process, it can only gather wish information from the last six months.

That won’t matter for the purposes of determining your pity, as long as you’ve had at least one five-star in that time period. It does mean that the overall website might be slightly inaccurate on what you already own if it was prior to that six-month window.

The wish counter screen can be used to check your wish history in more detail than the game allows, showing you the number of rolls on a per-banner basis. This can be useful for determining how many wishes you dropped in

It will also display a pity counter for you on each tier of wish. Every 3* item will show as 1, as no pity exists for them given how common they are. Any 4 or 5-star weapons and characters rolled will show what pity they were obtained on. If you’re curious about your current pity, you will be better served using the main wish counter page, which allows you to check pity in Genshin Impact on a per-banner basis.
