Every Fortnite season sees many new changes come to the game, and Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is no exception, with the biggest being the removal of building, although it is only temporary.

But, new Loading Screen tips could hint at what the future looks like for Fortnite going forward throughout Season 2 and beyond.

Loading Screens are displayed before a match begins and they come with a tip to help players out.

Here are the new tips that were added to Fortnite at the start of Season 2.

  • Hold down crouch while running to start sliding! You’ll slide faster going down slopes.
  • Donate Bars at Funding Stations to help bolster the Island’s defenses… and earn yourself a reward.
  • In modes without building, try Mantling up onto walls, ledges, and rooftops that are too high to jump over.
  • Tactical Sprint will make you move faster for a limited time, but be careful — you can’t aim while doing so.
  • Vaults contain lots of loot, but can’t be opened alone. Have a friend tag along… or just carry one there yourself!
  • The weather in Fortnite can get wild! Be on the lookout for storms, lightning, and even tornadoes
  • While wearing a Victory Crown, you’ll earn boosted XP. Be careful, though! Enemies can see the glow from afar.
  • In modes with building enabled, if you run out of one material, it will automatically switch to another available resource type.

One thing to note is that most of the changes are existing tips that have been updated to add the phrase “In modes with building enabled”, this does suggest that the no building feature isn’t simply going to be removed on March 29th and the game goes back to normal.

While the core modes will see building enabled, it is possible that the no-building alternative could become a permanent mode, alongside the regular Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads.

Many players have praised the decision to remove building from Fortnite and have stated that they are having a lot of fun, so it makes sense for Epic Games to give players that prefer this style of game the option to play it, while leaving building intact for those that prefer it.

While many will argue that Fortnite without building isn’t Fortnite, and that may be true, with the addition of Sprinting, Mantling, and Sliding, Fortnite has become more like a regular third-person Battle Royale game, and the new mechanics have really shaken up how the game can be played.

The removal of building did highlight a few flaws in the map where some places are inaccessible without building, but these could be changed over time to allow for the map to be fully accessible without building and that design choice could be carried over to future maps too.
