Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 has been an incredibly fun season, and it has helped reinvigorate my love for the game, with the secret skin The Cube Queen recently being added to the game, along with new collaborations including Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from Resident Evil.

It has been a very crazy season with lots of items being added, weapons being unvaulted with the new donation system, and overall it has just felt fun and enjoyable to play, with it feeling like Chapter 1 Season X in terms of the outlandishness of the game.

Speaking of Season X, there is still a lot more craziness to come, as well as the possibility that the Brutes will return.

There have also been rumors that Chapter 2 Season 8 could spell the end of Fortnite Chapter 2, with the Chapter currently being longer than the entirety of Chapter 1, despite having two fewer seasons so far.

Fortnite Chapter 1 ran from late September 2017 to October 2019, while Chapter 2 has run from October 2019 to now, with Season 8 due to end in December, which would make this Chapter one month longer despite only being eight seasons long.

There is still another month to go in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 which means plenty of updates are still set to arrive, with the latest being the 18.30 hotfix which introduces a new item and brings back a fan favorite too.

In the recent 18.30 hotfix, the new Icy Grappler item was added to the game, which will give the Ice Trap effect of ice blocks being on the player’s feet so they slide around along with the traditional Grappler mechanics.

This should be a very fun item to use, although we’re not sure when the ice effect would be beneficial when using the Grappler, apart from perhaps downhill rotations.

But, that’s not all, in addition to the Icy Grappler, which can only be purchased as an Exotic item from Fabio Sparklemane, the regular Grappler has also made a return to the game and can be found in chests and supply drops.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 still has around another month to go, so expect a few more updates, as well as more items being pitted against each other with donations.

Season 8 could also mark the end of Chapter 2, with Chapter 3 beginning in December 2021.
