Fortnite Season 4 Weapons: EvoChrome, Unvaulted weapons, nerfs, and buffs

Chapter 3 Season 4 New Weapon

With Chapter 3 Season 4 now underway, players have been jumping from the battle bus to collect a host of new weapons and items, as well as unvaulted classic weapons on the now mysterious Chrome-filled Island.

The new season ‘Paradise’ has seen one side of the island covered in a new dynamic Chrome substance, altering the contents of loot chests and granting players new mechanics for movement, as well as new POIs to explore with a shiny exterior. Even the animals have been given a makeover with chrome wildlife appearing throughout too!

Let’s take a look below at the new weapons and their mechanics, plus the old favorites that have made their return.

One of the biggest additions to this Season giving players an advantage is the Chrome Splash.

Ok, so it’s technically not a new weapon, however, the throwable item can be tossed to a player (or even to yourself), a wall, or the façade of a building, making it more convenient for players both in combat and transport.

With the ability to phase through walls, players have a major advantage when escaping gunfire. On top of this new feature, players can also transform themselves into a Chrome blob, giving them the ability to move faster to escape shots being fired or to outrun the rapid storm.

Two new weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 are the EvoChrome Shotgun and the EvoChrome Burst Rifle.

Players can locate the EvoChrome weapons in a new style of Chest, the Chrome Chest, available in Cloudy Condos, Herald’s Sanctum, Lustrous Lagoon, or Shimmering Shrine. Or players can create their own Chrome Chest using a Chrome Splash on a standard Loot Chest.

EvoChrome weapons start at the Uncommon rarity level and will progressively upgrade to a top level of Mythic rarity level as players deal damage to other players, players’ structures, and NPCs.

As with every season, the new weapons change, with some firm favorites returning to the vault, whilst others come back out to play. This season is no exception, with four weapons returning to the island:

  • Lever-Action Shotgun
  • Rapid-Fire SMG
  • Suppressed Submachine Gun
  • Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper

To make things interesting, two of these classics are now available to use at a Mythic Rarity. The Rapid Fire SMG and Lever Action Shotgun can be collected from a player’s reality Sapling at Mythic Rarity, making them much more powerful than ever before!
