Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 kicked off last month, and it is now time for the first major update of the season, the Fortnite 22.10 patch.

This new update has added many things to the game files, including some that we won’t see immediately, such as new events, weapons, and items.

Here is everything you need to know about the Fortnite 22.10 patch.

Fortnitemares is coming

It is October which means Fortnitemares is coming back to celebrate Halloween. Many Halloween-themed skins, such as Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper, will be making a return, as well as the inclusion of new modes and likely Quests and other fun things to do.

Fortnitemares 2022 will be going live in two weeks on October 18th, so there’s still a little while to go, but some of the files have been added to the game, which confirms it.

NEW LOCATION: Grim Grimbles replaces Shifty Shafts

After appearing in Fortnite for the first time since Chapter 1, Shifty Shafts has once again left the game, with Grim Grimbles taking its place.

This location is supposed to fit in with the Halloween theme and vibes that will be coming to the game, with it featuring a large haunted house.

It is unclear whether Shifty Shafts will return once Halloween is over.

Buildings and Blimps are on the move

Season 4 saw many floating areas added to the game, with some prominent landmarks being lifted in the air, including the No Sweat Insurance building in Tilted Towers and the pirate ship in Lustrous Lagoon.

These are now on the move, with No Sweat Insurance now being at Chrome Crossroads and the pirate ship being south-west of Rocky Reels.

Battle Pass Super Styles have been added

Level 100 used to be the end of the Battle Pass in Fortnite. But not anymore, now players can take it all the way to level 200 to unlock extra bonus styles for each of the characters.

Chapter 3 Season 4 is no exception, and the final Super Styles have been added to the game. These are split into five pages, with each being unlocked at 20-level increments.

A new bundle is coming to the game called Agency Renegades, these are reskinned versions of existing cosmetics in the game.

So far, there is no official release date for the pack, but we expect it to be very soon.

NEW WEAPONS: Cobra DMR, Explosive Goo Gun, Zero Build Launchpad

Three new weapons have been added to Fortnite in the 22.10 patch, the Cobra DMR, Goo Gun, and the Launchpad have returned.

The Cobra DMR was first revealed in SypherPK’s Icon Series skin trailer, and it has finally come to Fortnite. It operates similar to the previous DMR, but it has a better scope, fires more accurately, and does more damage, it’s very overpowered.

The Goo Gun hasn’t been added to the game yet, but it should work similar to an explosive weapon and we’re excited to check it out.

Launchpads are set to return and will be included in Zero Build, giving players more mobility options to traverse the map and escape the storm.

NEW EMOTE: It’s A Wash

A new emote has been added to the game called “It’s A Wash”, which sees the player take a bath. This is likely going to become a sweat emote to taunt players after defeating them.

Free Wrap

Due to the servers being down for many hours and completely unexpectedly too, Epic Games is giving all players a free wrap called “Sweat-Free”. This should be added to accounts once servers go live or shortly afterwards.

Loot Pool changes

There have been a few loot pool changes in the Fortnite 22.10 patch. The Grapple Glove makes a return after being removed at the start of the season. This will help with mobility, and it has always been a fan favorite.

As mentioned previously, the Cobra DMR is now in the game, and the Goo Gun and Launchpad can be expected to be added within the next two weeks.

New Crew Pack Music Packs

As part of the October 2022 Crew Pack, Epic Games has added two new Music Packs. Well, one Music Pack but with versions with and without vocals.

This is a dark screamo trap-style song and could become a fan favorite.

Check out both versions below.

Key Locked Chests added to the game

Keys are a brand addition to Season 4, unlocking many vaults located across the Fortnite island. Key Locked Chests have been added to expand upon this, with each granting an Epic or Legendary rarity weapon.

These can be found across the map, usually at POIs, and commonly grant weapons such as the Rapid Fire SMG, Prime Shotgun, and Hammer Assault Rifle.

Horde Rush is returning

As seems to be the case every Halloween, Horde Rush is once again returning to Fortnite and was included in the Fortnite 22.10 patch files.

Horde Rush sees you take on waves of zombies as you rotate across areas of the map, trying to stay out of the storm while being surrounded by dozens of enemies.

This time it will be played as a Zero Build mode, which should make it even more difficult and exciting.
