Destiny 2: Major changes to tower vendors

Its that time again, where the Destiny fanbase gets to see what else Bungie has in store for the weekly TWAB post. In addition to discussing adept weapons, Bungie has outlined major upcoming changes to tower vendors Ada-1 and Banshee-44.

Ada in particular has been sidelined due to the “sunsetting” of Black Armory content with the release of Beyond Light, while Banshee has only been good for picking up a rotating selection of mods.

The next season seems to be making changes that benefit these characters and players going forward.

Season 14 will have Ada will be in charge of selling armor upgrades and mods much in the same way Banshee sells rotating mods right now.

There will be two mods that will rotate daily, one general armor mod and one combat style mod; an armor set will be available for purchase as well.

The armor set, along with its stats, will rotate weekly as well, giving players a much more straight forward path to creating subclass builds.

One thing to note is that the set comes from the world pool, so any unique armor from certain activities will still have to be earned from their sources.

Banshee will have his identity as the gunsmith reaffirmed, as he will only sell weapon mods as well as a rotating selection of weapons that change weekly.

The weapons will also come from the world loot pool and have random rolls that also rotate.

There will be six weapons to choose from: two kinetic, energy and heavy; if you’ve been chasing a specific world weapon, you’ll be able to pick it up here.

These major changes are reminiscent of how vendors worked in Destiny 1’s heyday, where each vendor sold a selection of weapons and armor.

Much in the same way, all of the gear would rotate and have random rolls; Banshee in particular had a selection of weapons that could be ordered and received the following week.

Its obvious that Bungie has done some soul searching in trying to continually improve Destiny 2, as many new upcoming features were in Destiny 1 originally, save the new transmog system.

Things such as shaders, vendors, and gear were changed going into Destiny 2, and they indicated a more streamlined and profit-focused direction for the series.

Ever since the game’s launch in 2017, many players have desired a return to form for the shooter-MMO hybrid. These upcoming changes won’t radically improve the game outright, but they are a step in the right direction.
